New bedchair, HOW MUCH?

As you may be able to guess, I'm in need of a new bedchair.

Cheap ones below £100 don't tend to be much good in my limited experience.

Being just a lot over weight, I need an 8 leg decent quality bed. But, at £450 + I'm struggling to justify that amount

This is just blatant Carp tax & exploitation,  as with nearly everything else these days, I feel I'm being ripped off.😏

I'd be happy to pay around £200-250ish, but the choices are very limited.

Just wondered if anyone has any suggestions? Ta

Solar do or did a cheap version of their SP Tech - I bought it cos it's lighter for my long barrow trips.  Only paid £205 and I think that's a good price.  Whilst I've had it less than a year I think it's no longer a thing unless you can find old stock - possibly 'Undercover Pro Sleep System' or similar - I put it on the New Purchases thread some time ago.

The new sonik banktek beds are rated to 150kg, I have an axs duralloy that has survived me so far apart from a bent leg, but sonik replaced that by sending me almost another bed as spares.

Would second hand be an option mate? I've got the indulgence ss4 wide boy and it's been an absolute game changer for me, I can do a week session on it without any issues lol. It handled me at 17 stone 🤣

I would be happy with any fish, just dont seem able to catch any thing at all............ consistent as ever, good luck with a bedchair

Have a look on eBay, there were a good number of Solar Undercover bedchairs for sale, they look like unsold stock.

I've been using mine for a few years now and if I was to be really picky, it would be legs don't lock out, BUT, if it's properly levelled out there is no problem.

We can't help having a bulky build mate, 8-10 stone would be fine on these type of beds.

indeed, £450 TOTAL ripoff!....ffs my solid wooden double- bed indoors i got FREE and I refurbished it AND added a new mattress total cost £120.00!

i'm looking for a lite weight bedchair, (of course 2nd hand for me ) this came up in my search , NEVER used this brand, however they do have good reviews on amazon.

Google 'bedchair support legs' mate. You can turn any 6-leg into a 7 or 8-leg bedchair for 20 or 30 quid. This will bring loads of great options well within your budget.

I've been using a single support leg on the end of mine for years, just gives that little extra support to prevent bending at the hinges.

I use a bankstick to prop the top end of the bedchair up mine is a fold flat no adjustment wheels, bankstick with a decent butrest on does the job, haven't seen those spare legs about in a while good idea but most will buy after they need one.

With a butt rest on the top that's a very good idea.

One of those two types or even a small John Roberts butt rest would work a treat

Great in principle,  but a few flaws imo.

I would always want a groundsheet and don't want to make a hole in it, then when I put my weight on it, the bank stick would just sink into the ground, thus not providing any support.

Just say it's really hard ground and I did put a hole in groundsheet, I don't think the plastic butt rest would last very long.

If you selected the right sized esp one it would probably clip onto the frame(if I remember I will test it) either that or one of those Nash buttlock ones. 

I did think on soft ground though it might sink in when you leant on it, then you might need a bankstick stabiliser
