So for around a month I have had the awful feeling of that tiny piece of breadcrust stuck in the back of the throat, that won't go up or down. When I had throat surgery in September it was explained that scar tissue would take a while and it could happen. However it came complete with the taste of smoked bacon in my mouth. Not the worst taste, but it does mean I'm not enjoying the taste of food or drink. Doctors visit yesterday, it turns out I have a virus that could last up to 3 months. Yes keep it under observation dont be afraid to go to docs i had pneumonia about a year back was nasty, im one that never goes to doc unless a leg is hanging of so to speak but i knew i had a major chest infection took doc seconds to diagnose antibots cleared it up but still dont feel 100% salokcinnodrog 1 Quote
Carpbell3 Posted February 10 Report Posted February 10 Bit of better news, motor did the MOT with a advisory on a near to the limit tyre I needed new wiper blades as one was split, instead of fitting them before the MOT I left them in the packaging on the passenger seat, makes the inspector less picky going forward the bonus being the bit I put aside for any surprises can be spent elsewhere. Would have cost more to repair than replace the car! 26 minutes ago, mrmud said: Been a long 24hrs. Both my daughter-in-laws in hospital giving birth. 1 granddaughter not long born. Think I need to go fishing once they're both born coz god I'm stressed 30 minutes ago, salokcinnodrog said: Mine failed last month, rusty sills. It's not too bad if you are happy to make lifestyle changes like doing things at a slower pace you do need to make changes I have nearly collapsed a few times due to lack of oxygen found out today my COPD is caused by emphysema could of been worse. The DWP would probably still find me fit to work, lucky I don't need them as of yet. Quote

I'd had pains in my right shin and knee in 2020, doctor thought possibly a stress fracture, so I had X-rays, negative, he advised to keep an eye on it, and it gradually got to the stage i was constantly limping. In 2022 I woke up one morning with severe back pain, my right arm locked out, so straight to doctors. She immediately arranged hospital appointments for physiotherapy and hip and back clinics. Somehow I had been working with a hip joint that was breaking down the cartilage and as I had compensated I had twisted my back damaging a few discs, and causing nerve damage. The doctors immediately signed me off work, long term, mobility, pain. The DWP approved Enhanced Support Allowance, long term sick pay, but another department refused PIP, or disability allowance. Bear in mind I struggle walking, no more than about 20metres without stopping, have pins and needles in my right arm, and need crutches at times. There was no face to face appointment, only letter communication. I appealed the PIP decision, which was originally upheld, so I took it to court. The independent assessor, a doctor and a judge went through my case, asked the questions and obviously saw me attempting to walk. The decision to award PIP was made that day, and was given verbally. The DWP did not contest the case. crusian and Carpbell3 1 1 Quote

I'm her carer I did work in adult social care for a good few years in a council hostel including medication dispensing to residents with serious psychological problems gained me whatever the studied NVQ qualification is in social and health care so the DWP have never been onto me either they can get very involved if someone claims carers allowance for looking after a disabled person as can the general public.
