I think that there is no such thing as a bream proof rig, but how you feed can be the trigger.
Small silver fish and bream are attracted to heavy baiting, especially with particles, pellets and groundbait. The more you bait the more interested they are.
Bream tend to be vacuum feeders, they get onto food and they clear it up, and that includes the hookbait, no matter how it's fished, bottom baits and low lying pop-ups are especially vulnerable.
To avoid them feed less, or try boilies only.
Don't put any free bait in, and fish just PVA bags or stringers, or fish boilies where although you may put 100 (example) in, they are not so close to invite or become a feeding trigger.
The other thing is bream tend to avoid the margins, preferring to feed out in the main lake. They can have particular patrol routes!
Now saying that, I used to fish Ardleigh reservoir and you could catch bream and then the carp would come before the bream pushed them out again. I caught both bream and carp on baited spots, yet on Alton, I never caught a bream despite using loads of particles.
My rigs on Ardleigh and Alton were simply line aligned knotless knotted  snowman baits on braid rigs, nothing special.

My approach on waters with big shoals of bream etc is to feed 20mm boilie (no particle) with a blowback snowman rig, size 4 curve shank, 20mm bottom bait and 16mm pop up. I also like about 5 - 10mm between the hook and bait 👍

so first time out since september and managed a cheeky day session on local water, great start to the day as not only did my landing net snap on the first fish but also my bite alarm decided it would snap at the bracket so maybe some glue later might work but not convinced. new bite alarm turned up in the shape of this beautiful Robin just sitting on the rod for what seemed like ages

despite all of that it was a wonderful feeling being bakside again and had a lovely time with a few very nice carp reckon all under 5lb, will also post up the awesome pic i got of a a carp photobombing my picture of ducks....

First night of the season last night. It was a lot colder than I expected. There was ice on my unhooking mat and bivvy this morning. No bites so far. Still a few hours left though....

    Same swim, 2 weeks later.
I've been putting bait in when I leave, and although I had a walk around didn't see anything to make me want to go anywhere else.
Last week I did have 2 tench over the bait, biggest an estimated 5lb

Back down for another 3-4 nights potentially, picked back of the wind based on what I saw last trip and after setting up I saw several shows to my surprise, showing me where to put the rods, fingers crossed might get lucky - think I've dropped right on them unless they're passing through, some chunks to - fingers crossed 🤞

Yeah I'm not out I was going to brave the rain but she has broke her foot badly last week so that definitely called it.

Got out today... over me club lake...  a nice scrappy common got in on the act and gave me a good tear up all the way in from about 30 yards out... Rod was a 9'3" Sharpe, reel is an Abu 77 Cardinal, had a smaller carp which didn't stay still long enough for a shot... also had the scabbiest Bream in the lake...🥴

In the great scheme of things, I'll not be voting in the election this time round...
As a pensioner I've seen too many abuses of power and privilege over the years, I think this years election will see one of the lowest turnouts in history, people are sick of all the infighting and point scoring rather than genuine work to better this country
Billy Connolly has it right... "any desire to be a politician should automatically preclude you from being one"
Politicians are in it for money, perks and power... nothing else...

    Don't encourage them...

First trip of the year tomorrow but been busy buying stuff I dont need in prep obvs 🤣
Got the Solar undercover Pro sleep system, lighter than my SP Tech - will be on the barrow again this year so trying to lighten the load.  Got for £205, seen after on AD for almost £450 - unbelieveable ripoff.
3 pots of NS1 pop-ups discounted from a show in Essex.
    Bird Torch - same show.
Then as I'm not buying a new 1 man bivvy and going back to my old Avid brolley system I justified that the money saved could be spent on the Fortis Tundra 🤣 Got the bottoms from the show with a £20 discount.  Then the coat after at full retail 👎
Oh and the Diawa 18 Emblem Spod 35 SCW QD Reel because my Shimmy Spod (new) ceases up whenever it's left out in the rain or damp (rubbish, what a let down thats been).
Think thats it, broke but happy! 😁😎

Not sure I would trust them long term but they certainly have bigger fish to fry in the short term.
I think we are facing much bigger issues than banning fishing though at present, labour and tories both complicit in a genocide a vote for either is a vote for evil. The right wing chancers reform are just a bunch of lying racist fascists, quite frankly if you have a decent independent in your area vote for them or nothing will change
