Yeah, bivvies a lot further back the normal, as it's being filled up. I had to bring the rods back about 30 ft in 48 hrs. It's very, very muddy.
I can get all my kit in that boat for the 15 minute journey to the swim.
This weekend was the toughest yet

Had a couple of nights on the res.
    No fish, again. 🥺
Always nice to get out, even when the bivvy decided it was going to leave without me, a few times in the wind this morning😳

Two things spring to mind when I gaze at the lovely pics…one if I had a bite il be out of breath by the time I managed to get to the rods and two that is a proper bait boat !   😉

Had this from a mate, who lives opposite a lake I used to fish.

Old woman left her handbrake off and ended up in the bottom lake. She is on the roof with the boot lid sticking up behind her.

Good thing about Belgium is it’s only 1/2 hour out of the train tunnel.
there is a canal in adinkerke (sp) where most of the brits go on a booze/Fag cruise.
I have a friend who is from Belgium but he has been on the missing list for 6 months or so.
I could ask him for a few ideas but he’s not an angler so could be hit or miss

this could be a good starting point

So paid over a bag for my 12 year old son and myself for 3 days at the Belgian grand prix end of July next year.
    Bucket list job 50th.
I'm well excited as its 2 birds, 1 stone.
Carp fishing abroad for the first time and visiting a gp weekend that has always produced some great racing.
I have 2 angling mate's saying they're up for it.
We're torn between trekking up and down the canals (TBH sounds like too much hard work) for 4 of us to get swims. Or trying to get a decent lake with at least a shower and a few commons to 40+.
I'm not expecting much as this thread has been dead for over 6 years. But I'd appreciate any thoughts or recommendations from anyone that's been over there.

    Thanks in advance

It's not racist to believe that a Country should look after it's own people, not give 5 star treatment to people who turn up in a boat and jump the queue for housing and benefits.

No i agree imagine being homeless and not being allowed a tent, we all like to keep warm on the bank in winter, we wouldn't want to do it without a bivvy, good sleep system etc she's an out of control fascist intent on making the worst affected peoples lives worse.

Owners & bailiffs all have their own weird and wonderful rules and theories.
Many of which are complete & utter cow dung!
If he said you can't use that rod then I'm afraid you'll have to oblige.
If you know you can play and land a lump safely, then crack on my friend.
    I've had a 20lber on an 8ft 1.75tc travel rod, blooming good fun😊

I used to work in an area that was blighted by tramps, druggies and prostitutes. We often found abandoned tents outside the premises on a morning and they normally went in the skip. They didn't mind, just go to the council and get another one!
Unfortunately the housing system in this country is severely broke and I can see how many people are forced into rough sleeping.

I think the bait companies are safe for a while 😂
I cut the nozzle to 16mm thinking it was an 18mm table but I think that was too big and left an airy middle bit, so we had to roll them by hand , some have craters in them will try smaller nozzle next time smell nice though 😂

No I don't read that in the replies mate, you've got 3.5's, they're fine for all carping and you can chuck a small spod/spomb out with them no worries.
I've got 3.5's wouldn't swap them at all for all my fishing, the spod rod is 4lb+ but I'm chucking medium or large spombs.  I use that rod with just a lead on for feature finding just because why not, it's a great caster and has decent feel because it's stiff, it also pulls through weed well being strong and is light and used with a light big reel made for the job.
The only lighter rod I would ever use is a floater in 2.75lb - 3lb, 3lb preferably.
Depends on the waters you fish though I guess.
The only thing to consider is using braid for the feature finding, so having a spare spool of braid for your fishing rod, IF you are going to use it for feature finding and spodding at the beginning of the session. That's if you use mono for fishing.
I don't know if that's helped or made it seem more complicated lol

Have tried a bit of yellow foam?
you can cut it to suit and balance it with putty/shot on the hair.
I soak zig foam, give it a squeeze in the glug and it will absorb it. Soak for as little or as long as you like.

Is it an underwater one BB?
Not sure how I'd use it for fishing.?????
Maybe watching some see you next Tuesday nicking your gear (If you fish in a dodgy area).
A mate's work place kept getting done over, he spent 6k on cameras, next time he gave the footage to old bill and made no difference whatsoever????
Basically, he paid 6k to watch his gear getting nicked🤮

Welcome to the forum.  I've used half a foam earplug quite a few times, and keep a couple in a little jar of glug.
