I had my only carp from a difficult syndicate on it, glugged in the link dip. Snowman style. My friend who's fished there a year longer, uses Cell. He's not landed a fish, although he lost one due to blunt hook point. I like & prefer the Link. I know a few people who have also had success with it. I used to use Hybrid before link came out. As dayvid says unusual smell, so once dried I keep them in the bucket. P. S. I won't be buying anymore due to giving zigs a good bash....... if ever go fishing that is😒

I had this discussion, with a few members on here about a year ago. The consensus was, that you get a far better bite indication if the rod eye/butt ring is past the alarm, allowing the line to drop from the alarm wheel to the swinger. With the ring behind the alarm, the natural drop of the line can be hindered. Also if you fish locked up or on tight drag, you won't have your butt ring smashing against the alarm,on an aggressive take. As with most things, everyone does things differently and how they feel things should be.

I used both on my old 2 Rod ticket. With the 3 rod pod, just put alarms and butt rests on the out sides, job done! 2 Rod bars on bank sticks, Cygnet black, reasonably priced. I tend to use these as it's alot easier & quicker to get up n running. Both have their place dependant on the bank conditions.

Or give off a warning signal??? Just playing devil's advocate. I used to fish a silty water & found the lead set up to be just as important as the bait. I caught on bottom baits, snowman and pop ups. I used to soak my hookbaits in Betalin, and previously in other glugs. Although I have to say I did better with bait straight out the packet. I'm now of the mind to keep things simple & am determined to be successful with zigs. On the quicky I did the other week (which was the silty WATER), I cast the rake out to the spot a good few times, within 20-30 mins I had fish showing on both spots!!! (I believe chillfactor advocated this approach a while back) I was gutted packing up early, I firmly believe if I'd done the night I would of had a few. That will be my preferred method for the rest of the year. P. S. No glug etc. on the foam

There's a couple of old threads on it Highy. Go somewhere well stocked & like most mainline baits you should have a couple. Good quality. Last I knew its not in shelf life though?? You're not going to change bait for your match are you?? Sticky with what you're confident with!! 😎

You do deserve a pat on the back mate! Human nature is an amazing thing in a time of crisis. Your mate is very lucky it didn't happen in the middle of the night when no one was around to rescue him.

Hello. To my knowledge not many fisheries are going to like you having their fish that high off the ground. Are you able to get some waders on and get in the water. With a good unhooking mat or retaining sling. This would allow unhooking and photos without any risk to the fish. I'm sure the bailiff/owner would/should adapt a swim to allow you to enter/exit the water safely in this regard. Fair play to you buddy

Good luck ginger, you seem to have the key to that water, so go with your gut!! Personally I'd try to avoid having a line going through your spot, but it might not make any difference!!

I've found the large one casts better too. A tight wad I know got the small one & struggled casting any distance, tangle and not opening. The bit of float foam is genius & should really be an integral part of it. It'd just sink otherwise if you ever cracked off. Well worth the quid

Heat is only good for arthritis according to my chiropractor. I used to think the same, love a bit of deep heat. It's ice packs you need for muscle or ligament damage. Wrapped in cloth so you don't burn yourself!! How wrong does that sound!! 😂 Works a treat

As above buddy, & with my fishing set up in general I like to keep it simple. No need for all the bits n bobs imo.

What mainline you using Highy? I use 20 lb whiplash braid, casts lovely
