Still no flipping water
-
We need a change at the top, unfortunately, it would appear Labour are our best option , but the mainstream press (as always) seem to turn the majority of sheeple against them??? After the mess the Boris crowd left it's going to take quite a few years, not months. Starma might not be charismatic, but we don't need that. Someone with their head screwed on who will put the people first, not the big corporations.

Friday night mate. Don't get me wrong, I've not had it as hard as others. Im fortunate to have a 10000l pool in the garden, so buckets for flushing the loo. Water came on for a few hours yesterday but was very cloudy and chalky. We managed a shower and a few loads of washing. Ran out again by tea time. Easily collected bottled water yesterday.

As an update, still no running water. I do hope this won't effect the shareholders profits
-
She's a long time gone mate, but that was the start of it. This kind of thing just shows how fragile our infrastructure is and who's going to do anything about it??
-
The only country in the world to privatise it's most natural resource???
-
Old thread i know, but the only one I could find How much longer are we going to put up with the complete ack of reinvestment in our infrastructures. My town (estimated 16,500 homes) is without water, due to a burst mains. This has caused utter chaos all day. These private firms pay out to the shareholders and hope everything else sorts it's self out. Then they have the cheek to say we got to pay more. Oil prices are another, perfect example of us being bent over Reform is needed, just not the party.

Thanks @elmoputney This years been one to forget. New year, new start! New PB on our social🤞 Best wishes to all
-
C'mon @elmoputney! I'm crossing everything for you (& a bit jealous).

I know the feeling mate. Fishing time is precious with a young family under normal circumstances, let alone when you've just moved. We had the first real frost this morning, that's been very productive for me in the past when I had the time to go. March will soon come around and we can go for that big beautiful common🤞🤞🤞
-
Its a shame really. A mate had a new pb (43) the other night. I can't stick up the picture though. This is usually the best time to be out imo. Family stuff means, I'm not able to get out at minute. How's the pond life?

Catching, now that's a whole different level
-
I just keep wishing I was fishing
-
I can't belive no one has been out having a go? Last week has been good conditions, full moon too. I can't get out due to family stuff😔
-
Totally. Spent a few hours there the other day with my sons. We tried dead bait, no joy. But had a few tiddlers in the float rod. Got them off the screens for a few hours enjoying their surroundings

Has anyone won a prize up to £100000 yet yet

We all need to chip in for better anti virus software😄 If I win , I'll gladly pay for ir -
They're two separate tickets mate. The estate has about 2 miles of bank, over 4 stream fed lakes in a valley, a lot of it is unfishable. It is lovely, with natural English carp rumoured to e around the 30 mark. Just talking about it is making me want to go
-
The canals sound like great fun. I've tried a little bit of river fishing for perch and pike recently with my boys. Carp fishing time is very limited and precious to me, there's just something (mainly daft rules), that's just not giving me the buzz
-
Thanks @yonny, wise words as always. It's just lost, or not got that sparkle for me. I must admit a big turn off was finding out my son's couldn't put a carp rod out, when I was told they could fish with me. I broke my usual rule, of not fishing barbless venues. They always have the most ridiculous set of rules, for the most random reasons??? Maybe my estate ticket is where I should focus. Literally no rules whatsoever
-
So, I joined a little syndicate recently. Well stocked to a few early 40's, Initially thought there's a few odd rules, but whatever. As times gone by (4 x 48's), I've had a low 30 on the first visit) I've sort of lost interest in the place. A few mates are on the ticket, but we haven't been free at the same time for a social. After fishing a reservoir and that feeling of having something no ones caught before, I've just not had the same buzz with this place. The search for a decent venue continues i guess??

Rod licence renewal....... £55.30....... How has this nearly doubled in the last 5 years????
-
CC Moore do some small ones, which are friend had some success with, but nothing like the bad boys @elmoputney found. I've tried hair rigging slugs before but they didn't stay on long. I'd be interested to know how you get on @jh92,so do keep us posted mate? https://ccmoore.com/32-frozen-water-snails

Well I can't even upload a screenshot atm🙄 He had a nice little perch about 1 1/2 lb. Needless to say he now wants try live baiting next time. Predator fishing is allowed on my ticket from October with some perch around the 3-4lb mark. Well that is if we get some more rain and increased oxygen levels in the water🤞

Sad to hear the fish are dying there @Golden Paws. The lack of rain this year is really taking its toll. On a brighter note, took my son up to the little farm lake again. After trying every lure we had, I foul hooked a small roach with the lure & thought shall I leave it on??? This was the result..
