  1. I know exactly what you mean. My ticket is a 300 acre res (when full) & is said to hold a few 50+, with the average high 20 early 30. I've only had a 24lb common and PB 36 mirror 8n the past few years since C19. Every time I go somewhere else, I think why am I here it's a puddle. Only problem is the new head bailiff is a complete bar steward. Makes up loads of rules (which are not on my list of rules when I joined i must add), the last 6 visits have resulted in disagreements, on interpretation of his word (& BS rulemaking). This weekend, all set up with my youngest son (9), he comes along & protests he's (my son) not insured to be in the boat?? So have to pack up early and my son is broken hearted after waiting in the car, while I go over and pack up... STRANGE!! The year before was almost no problem with my eldest son (12) , apart from he thought we had 2 people and all set up in 1 boat. Soon put him straight, only extra bed chair and crisis averted. I will not renew next year, which is gutting, but I just can't stand power ego bailiffs (reason I gave up my ticket at Yately Car Park). Currently feeling upset & need of a decent new syndicate with a few beauties to go for. Im loooking forward to exclusive members do in March🤞
  2. I suppose when you put it like that..... I quite fancy Binghams in Thailand for that big carp red letter trip. An Aripima would be very welcome.
  3. https://search.app?link=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.anglingtimes.co.uk%2Fnews%2Fstories%2Fthe-worlds-biggest-common-carp-has-been-caught%2F%3Futm_source%3Dtaboola%26utm_campaign%3Dtaboola-related%26utm_medium%3Dtaboola-footer-1&utm_campaign=aga&utm_source=agsadl2%2Csh%2Fx%2Fgs%2Fm2%2F4 This fish however, I might be convinced to have a go for😍
  4. I totally agree @framey their not doing it for the fishes benefit. Elphics comes to mind and I remember someone on here saying, in those type of venues, it's like fishing for puddle pigs. Not my bag either
  5. I saw this a few weeks back. He's copied a Koi farmers method of growing them on. I think I also saw that they recently put a 60 in Monument 1. A friend was going to join RH but £1500 is a bit steep
  6. From what I can tell, I think he had caught a rudd on sweetcorn & the size 6 hook was enough to catch it. He swares he caught it on sweetcorn 😆
  7. My nine year old caught this while fishing a small farm pond, several weeks ago😍 whilst with his mate. He won't forget that one. He says it felt stuck so he just pulled harder😉 Size 6 hook in it's mouth.!!!! I have tried a couple of times to recatch it and weigh it, but only seem to get the small ones.
  8. Winter ticket for a local club water, as my eldest son wants to catch a barbel. Magic wand (I'll take any edge for the res) Lock hook size 4 Pva tape Came with a nice thankyou postcard, from Ali.
  9. Yep🫰 & my 9 year old son who has the bug atm. Frost Friday night and rain all day Saturday. Hopefully dry on Sunday for the arduous pack up
  10. Kids - vids Spellchecker🙄 and no edit button anymore?
  11. I came across this the other day. Some of his other vids are really good too. Short n sweet. Not plugging any gimmicks as far as I could tell, which puts me off alot of these youtubers.
  12. 😎
  13. Big congrats to your son. You must be proud? Is that a filter on the camera? Or, just a massive gut? Happy days catching fish like that
  14. Yep. You look full of Covid there mate. Best place to isolate. I feel a bit odd myself, might have to try that one on the missus😊
  15. I heard shares dropped in Sonik when you stopped mate. I hope you enjoy yourself on the bank. Best of British
  16. Haven't heard that one for ages. Quite right though
  17. Loading the reel is the easy bit. It takes 10 times longer, getting the old stuff off.
  18. Kingfisher, mate. There's a few beauties in there. I'm sure the others will post their captures, where as I will have to settle for a few rod shots & the view from the bivvy🤣
  19. Afternoon guys, As the title might suggest, we're planning a meet up, early March, in Buckinghamshire. The venue we have in mind is a bit special, so a bit hush, hush for now There's 4-5 spaces avaliable. Anyone interested?
  20. I'm sure there was another thread on this, but this was the only one I could find, so I'm sure this is the first time I'm paying over £50????
  21. 50 years, WOW! That's impressive quality, are they still producing rods? Any chance you could elaborate on the abbreviations mate? Apologies if I'm being ignorant.
  22. Nice one mate. Fair play for getting drowned, getting the great photo and perseverance
  23. As the title might suggest, I'd be interested to hear what fishing tackle you've brought, that has lasted and been good value for money. Hopefully , helping out others to invest in decent gear (some mark 2, 3, 4 versions can be lower quality, although not always the case). Looking around me, I have 3 items over 10 years old and still going strong. JRC 2 Man bivvy (takes a pounding on the res, but almost as good as new) Shimano XTR1000RA Baitrunners. Ruben Heaton scales (hardly used🫤) Most of my other kit has needed to be replaced, due to failing the test of time. Thanks in advance guys
