  1. That's where I found the 3 turn blood knot didn't stress the knot or hooklength. Iq's OK, but honestly the rigmarole stuff seems to be a bit different to the rest. A simple pull with tools straightens out with no need for steam!! It has to be made of a different material to the norm.
  2. What product and knot yonny??
  3. Since trying their hook link materials a few years ago, I've not needed any others. No need for steam, easily shaped and reshaped, never had any abrasion or memory issues. I favour a 3 turn blood knot, simple. Blobs well with a lighter. Hydrolink is wicked & so easy to tie combi, multi rigs http://www.tacklebox.co.uk/lines/fluorocarbons/rig-marole-camh2o-fluorocarbon.html#/product/50831
  4. Don't worry we may of left the EU by the time they do anything! Lead was sposed to of been banned from fishing, back in the late 80's early 90's. On the rivers and canals anyway. I remember split shot nearly tripled in price. I guess as usual carp fisheries turn a blind eye to it.
  5. A MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS!! Excellent news mate. Wondered if everything was OK. Glad to hear you're enjoying fatherhood. If management allows, will there be a post in Feb baby catch report??
  6. How's things yonny??
  7. I've had a few small ones. All on a quick stop rig with luncheon meat. From what I'm lead to believe is that they don't feed on the bottom, so you want a buoyant, slow sinking bait. They naturally feed on vegetation, so get near the weeds or lilies, etc. A good Angler I know caught a 33lb er with tiger loaf, floating on its nose, he clotheslines across to a branch to keep the line out of the water. He's had quite a few with that method, but only in warmer weather. Good luck with your quest and I hope to see you've nailed one in the catch report
  8. Whilst there's no denying they're good alarms, I've always thought they look like an old mobile phone, brick like. I would say that they are behind the times a bit in terms of design & have most likely missed a good few customers. A bit like the I phone xxx, doesn't actually do much more than a basic smart phone, but you'll always have the tarts that have more money than sense & will have to have it!! A bit too much carp tax on these to turn my head!
  9. Changed them summertime, they only work when I get them out n pack em away. Tough Syndi runs out end of March. New venue for June open season, may finally get to see them n action, possibly upgraded to 4 mag. Although I'm one of those that takes something apart and for some unknown reason it never quite goes back together!! 😂 Might get local tackle shop on the case. Excuse pun
  10. I may as well just call it what it is!! Camping by a lake
  11. That's mad
  12. Tried again, may work this time
  13. Well see what I mean. This link hasn't worked. Maybe one of the mods can advise http://youtu.be/GLQJa_P91co
  14. It's murder, I have to screenshot pics. I did a video a while back, you have to do it through YouTube channel, I'm no techy, it was fairly easy https://youtu.be/GLQJa_P91co
  15. Agree! The 50lb is good, I use the alright knot though, no issues at all
  16. Hang on a minute, what has my missus been looking at???
  17. I thought porn wasn't allowed on here. It's a video n her breastickles star jiggling about!! Might have to go talk to myself about this. & I was going to have a night off!!
  18. I'm no expert and only seem to get perch. If you search previous threads, you'll find @nigewoodcock is the man & has put loads of info on how it's done to great effect. (well in theory, I've not stuck with it enough)
  19. Terrible news, I hope someone is held to account
  20. Might need to find a new venue for a while mate. Not good dogs dying, won't be long before the fish go belly up
  21. I'd spread a bit, maybe 1/2 k or so, 5 In a PVA stocking, with the hook bait. If your fishing a 'spot', if I wasn't too sure of a bite, maybe just 20 scattered around the hook bait, again with 5 in a stocking. Weather's a bit harsh, you are hardcore & I doff my cap to you sir & wish you nothing but, the very best of luck. (if you've gone)
  22. I showed my friend your comment yonny. He's been using them for the last 5 years (kept that quiet or I wasn't listening, probably the latter, 😂) he had problems with the s2 splitting on the hair, hence using the stocking. Do you hair rig or lassoo?? We're there those issues a while ago, he's got a few different baits & glug, etc. from them. Maybe the current recipe is a bit more robust do you think?
  23. I was given some corkball s2's from a good Angler I know, he says I should stocking, armamesh it cos its likely to break down/come off the hair?? Anyone else had that issue with them? P. S. Thought I'd give em a go after reading this thread!! 😎
  24. They are like lemmings at certain times, I bopped one the other day. As Ian said lucky it's just a mirror, especially at speed. Be lucky
  25. I had one of those months, bills, fines, insurance hikes, yadee yaa. Courier van smashed my mirror the other day too. Annoying Febs here, weather's looking better so hopefully get the rods out soon
