  1. Have you tried the ticket that allows you to fish forts in Gosport?
  2. I haven't, but heard it's got a few gems.. I'm on car park. Only been a few times to far lows, had 4 fish last time, m25 Bank(noisy as hell, but it was dammed) in the far corner, by the out of bounds section, guess where most the fish were??? But they move out. I put out krill and diamond whites. Same as any venue really, try & find them first. You have to walk the venue, put a bucket & then go back to the office. Good luck mate
  3. Sandhurst yately?
  4. Try & avoid smelly & m25bank, o & the dreaded dip tank . The bigger fish are in the main lake. Sticky or mainline can't go wrong. Take a towel cos showers are well nice, Pleanty of cash cos Eric's angling shop on site too. P. S. Avoid the geese if they are still there!!!
  5. Me too, 2 Rod rule makes me consider the possibilities a bit more. I do believe too many lines in the water can make the fish wary or turn them off. Quite comfortable & happy with 2. If I was fishing a big pit or reservoir I may go to 3. I've never had 2 go at the same time, although I've got 2nets, it'd be impossible to deal with 3 or 4??
  6. Club waters can be good value for money. I went as a guest to a local water, a bailiff did come by each day. Some of the waters round here get poached by the 'anians. So most established waters are being vigilant. I fish a syndicate and an estate lake. The Syndicate I'd expect to see at least one bailiff, normally 2 every day. There is 4 lakes on the complex. 1 private hire so they tend to check all is OK there & clean toilets etc. Tackle & safety equipment is checked for the first few weeks of the new season. Been there a few years now, so pretty much left to get on with it. The estate lake, no bailiff to speak of. Rules are standard EA on the membership form. Only seen the odd Angler, over 5 lakes separated by river & wider systems. I could run around naked and not see a soul. It's a little bit of paradise! So. I could say no bailiff at all works for me!
  7. 18?? Surely questionable as to their relationship to the owners & their knowledge, but you'd have to show them the respect their title deserves, I guess. just laugh at them out of earshot if they are a pair of muppets. A good bailiff should set out any basic rules from the off, then pretty much leave you to it. You'd expect them to pass by daily. Maintaining the venue is important imo.
  8. I know a few lads that go here every year https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=pavyotts+mill&oq=pavot&aqs=chrome.2.69i57j0l3.5278j0j4&client=ms-android-tmobile-gb&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8 If you don't mind travelling
  9. As above 2-3 times a year, you never know what the line goes through underwater, I'd hate to loose the fish of a lifetime for the sake of £15

    Silly Rules

Would that no boats rule cover placing baits by boat, whereas you could go out to unsnag a fish in a boat? My complex, you can go out to retrieve fish or lost tackle, but it must be 2 in the boat with life jackets & someone one on the bank. In a perfect world I can understand, but in reality how are you going to get 2 other anglers to wind in & assist?? A lot of the time there's not even that many people there. If I had to, I'd just wade out to the fish. Max depth is 8ft
  11. https://www.physique.co.uk/large_catalogue_images/sport_thumper_2015.jpg Sorry, added link. I paid around £120
  12. Ive been suffering back problems for a few years. Been to chiropractor all year. He uses this on me, got one myself, WOW!!! Best money I've spent. Almost orgasmic! My friend has the indulgence blah! Blah, another has the entry level, the frame & basic bed is exactly the same?? Just more money
  13. Avid rest bite. memory foam, still great nights sleep after 4years. Had to tighten the chords a bit but I am 15stone. I'd get the wider one next time
  14. Had a dose of that myself Saturday afternoon, cold sweat, headache and generally feeling like I have been hit by a bus. Nasty, couldn't fish through that!!!
  15. I heard of a guy doing particularly well the other day with a single dog biscuit. I think the warm weather helped, equally right time, right place, carp gods aligned he had a few 30's!! One day it will be my turn, one day!!!

    Silly Rules

I got lucky getting the ticket, don't should imagine I'd get the chance again. Long waiting list. I knew I couldn't put the time in for a few years with a young family, but I will & there's a few absolute stunners I'd love to bag before I give it up.
  17. You should do stand up geez
  18. True enough, never used to use it. Sod pulling rigs through bags. I find the mesh is just an evolution of a stringer, & cos I can't arsed to tie them on. I use 1nugget wrap the hair to shank, lick it & fold it in both ends, over the hook, it tends to stay on for me which I know cos it can be almost a minute before it pops up. Takes seconds. I do take what you say about fish maybe tasting the glue trace though. I will experiment if ever get back on the bank
  19. As I've said previously in this topic, people bang on about bait n plastic etc. not being environmentally friendly, yet we don't have so much to say about the amount of glue being thrown in to lakes every day of the year. Like a lot of rig bits, some one shows you, if it makes sense you apply it to your fishing. I'm not a long distance guy, quite comfy @10-12 wraps, if not under my rod tip. I now, only ever use freebies to match my hook bait, the stocking & single wrapped nugget are to ensure I get the desired presentation when I the rig & lead hit the bottom, ie. I haven't hooked a twig or dense Canadian weed. I guess it's a confidence thing, I wouldn't dream of not at least putting a nugget on to protect the hook point.

    Silly Rules

Hear, hear. I don't like all the politics of it. I want to turn up, fish, small talk with the sensible lads, then go home. My estate ticket, basically EA rules on membership form, not once have I been told you can't do this or you have to do that! It really is a different atmosphere and a1/4 of the cost.
  21. I wrap a PVA nugget round the hair & shank. Stocking with a few freebies on the hook gives a bit more weight, hit the clip or stop the line when you hit the water & the rig should never tangle!

    Silly Rules

My syndic was great the last 2 years, everyone got on, now 2 of the complex bailiffs are on this lake, there is a definite divide, bitchyness. I don't get involved, but one of the bailiffs is a bit of a plonker to me & I recently found out that I tend to fish his favoured swim & found the spot he's been baiting. SO, I find it a bit playground, which considering I'm hardly ever there, is a bit off putting.
  23. Near Gatwick, always around South London to Hampshire though for work.
  24. Local shop & tackle direct only seem to have shelfies. Stabilised. Where's that from then mate? My online search ability is poor at best
  25. So new topic on stabilised boilies maybe? The cultured ones are stabilised, er shelf life, er they're round n smell good car Is that from a different supplier? Ive heard sandhurst baits will make up a specific recipe, if you know the ingredients. £8 a k, not too sure about that, the Nash ones are £9a k.
