  1. Well my worst fears came true. Got a bite, felt a good tug, then snapped up!! Flipping gutted!! Hydrotuff didn't turn up. Tried threading on some tubing, blooming nightmare that is. Not allowed lead core so I'm going with 50lb leader. My mates lost two as well, beefing up the last few feet to try and avoid any repeat losses. 🀞🀞🀞
  2. Have you tried the Katapault? I know it's that brand, but I wouldn't buy a different one since having them. Haven't needed to yet, but you can buy spare elastics too. Had to buy a spare when I left it at home. Had them several years, no issues really. New cable tie here and there is all. Very comfortable for 12-15 boilies at the range you're after mate
  3. Owners & bailiffs all have their own weird and wonderful rules and theories. Many of which are complete & utter cow dung! If he said you can't use that rod then I'm afraid you'll have to oblige. If you know you can play and land a lump safely, then crack on my friend. I've had a 20lber on an 8ft 1.75tc travel rod, blooming good fun😊
  4. Good luck buddy. You know what works so don't go to newπŸ˜‰
  5. Do you move the hook bead at all elmo? I try to keep it at the end the shank, before the curve, so the bait screw (I use micro swivel with dental floss) only moves on the shank. Imo meaning more of the hook is in its mouth, always goes centre bottom lip. I use floss on the micro swivel as I think it allows the hook bait to move more naturally.
  6. So I've been prebaiting the last few weeks, in preparation for the weekend. As the water level has dropped at least 12 ft since I joined, there are various rocks, tree stumps, clams, etc. that are causing me great concern that if I get a take I am likely to get cut off😏. So I am thinking hydro tuff line and only fish a few wraps out to minimize the risk. Thoughts and recommendations gratefully received πŸ‘
  7. I have about 20k to last. He's going to a European competition in a few weeks. Providing about 500k for his team. 😳 I can get mainline for reasonable prices if I need it, but this bait comes ridiculously good value, s
  8. 2 nights on the bank next weekend. Been Baiting up twice, again tomorrow and Tuesday, had to limit it to a few k due to bait company fulfilling orders, so no more available until the end of the month 😭
  9. Good stuff elmo, your hard work and effort is really paying off.
  10. There's always something I forgetπŸ™„ Best of British mate🀞
  11. Good angling geez! You made it happen, well done
  12. Good luck Elmo 🀞for you mate
  13. Has the sealant at the splashback or seal around sink past its best? Eak out the bank time mate
  14. Tell her not to use the sink or fill up a few bottles and turn the mains off. Fingers crossed for you buddy
  15. You're still in with a shout elmo, until the clock runs out anyway. Weather looks good for a morning bite
  16. I use a long anti tangle sleeve with a Combi rig. A few freebies in pva mesh and never had any problems. I guess if you use a supple hook link you could have issues.
  17. Beware of Chinese copies. I had a few, low quality, easily dented and run the risk of getting cut off on sharp edges.
  18. Happy hunting mate. My babysitters (daughters) stayed last night, the grandson was singing away until midnight and started again at 5πŸ™„ Hopefully get set up by 4-5, might have a wander about with my stalking kit, can't beat crusty loaf off the top.

    Dab Radio

I'm not sure how much data it uses really mate. I don't think it's too bad. Worth a bash? If not, you can't beat argos for electricals. Which (< the website) normally do good reviews, good luck

Free to download I use the Tunein radio app on my phoneπŸ‘
  21. I'm pleased you like it mate. It's the dogs imo! Their fluro and specimon material ar3 equally decent. I'll avoid the extreme from your findings. I try to get the loop knot in the anti tangle sleeve, using the long ones. Your pic looks like a standard one? I often tie the hooklink to the swivel with a 3 turn blood knot.
  22. Cheers mate! I don't have much weight in them, I put bait, drink and grub, in the middle bag. It's important to get the weight distributed well for sure. My mate has the fat boy version and any long hike, he ends up tipping and doing 2 trips 🀣🀣🀣. I saw a new post in search of a syndi down your way Dayvid, not sure if you can point him in the right direction??
  23. Not too bad, stopped twice each way. 10 minute walk without the Barrow. I guess I like being comfortable when doing an overnighter
  24. Enough for a quick overnighter?? It always seems to much and yet I always forget a few things??
  25. Whatever feels right for you mate! Personally I'd only fish a chod/zig in weed, drop off lead of course. If you're staying put keep on trying to find a spot or locate where the fish are, if possible. Then you'd know whether or not to move. I'm envious mate, enjoy the challenge!
