I was due to be going to Linear next month, my mate was going for a week and I was due to join him for the last 72. Apparently they are only giving 48hr tickets??? Not too sure what that would achieve, but definitely a spanner in the plans.

Has the C word been banned on here?? I'm surprised no one is talking about our current health crisis situation!! VERY CRAZY TIMES WE'RE LIVING IN!!

Split shot between the hook/hair and bait, or soft and stiff hook link. (try rigmarole hydrolink). If I want to pin down my line, I use a flying back lead. Personally, I never use leaders. I don't really use them, like you say fiddly. I use pva mesh with a few boilies. When I have used them, I turn it inside out, hook through the bag, turn it back in, straighten hair, half fill with boilies and crumb, place lead in, compacting more bait as much as possible. Pull the line to the middle, around 3/4 full, pinch excess and line, twist a few times, compacting the bait, wrap several times with pva tape (not string), couple of granny knots. Carefully trim excess around line, fold, lick n stick the bottom corners. Practice makes perfect mate

I've always found the smaller ones a prone to tangling. A mate had the same issue too. Is that down to my mediocre casting ability or just the small spomb at a reasonable distance. I never have tangles with a large one🤔

I just got a friend one of these, only £47 loaded with braid. Comes with a rod as well for £90. The reel seems OK. Good value for a new set up. I believe Highy may know how it performs.

For real! Just got PCN. Last week I forgot to pay up in time. The auto pay won't work for some unknown reason. Anyway £80 FOR CC!! THEN ANOTHER £80 FOR ULEZ??? I AM BLEEPING BLEEPING FIZZED OFF!! This government outlawed Wonga and the like, for extortionate inflation. Well look at this scheme £24 on the day, £26.50 the day after, then after that it's £160??????????? I am fuming😠🤬😠🤬😠🤬😠🤬😠🤬😠🤬😠🤬🤬😠

Personally, I was advised by a mechanic a while back. Look at what the taxi drivers use. My previous motor was a passat, great motor, just needed bigger for work. I've had a Vito for the past 5 years, love it. Paid about £5k, no major issues, now has 315K on the clock. Hoping to trade it in for a newer model next year, if we get a good SCRAPPAGE scheme with this ULEZ

Sort the guttering out, repoint with 4 in 1. I wouldn't apply water repellent on until the end of summer, allow the bricks to dry out. If you stop evaporation externally, guess which side the damp comes out??? If its a solid wall highy, consider putting a mesh cavity membrane, dot n dab plasterboard to that. Good luck mate

Just put a few kilo of Bait on a spot at the estate lake, ready for an overnighter this Saturday 🤞

I tried sweetcorn goo for a while when they first came out. No luck. My preffered dip is Betalin, lovely sweet flavouring. done me a few fish, had my only fish out the car park on it, so I'm fairly confident it works. I agree with the above comments, not much point in glugging freebies, it's the hook ait I want to make more attractive. Seems logical, that's why I've applied it to my fishing.

I'd have to say the best jacket I own is a North face one, with a fleece liner. Not cheap but very good quality and effective in all weather's! Had it about 10 years, still in good condition 😉

I've got a 72 hour sesh booked (with the missus) late April at Linear. Looked on their website, Oxlease closed due to flooding, some of the lads are absolutely smashing st johns🤯. I wish I could get there now!! I've not been there for the last 2 years, so really looking forward to it🤞 My mates, making noises about a new prototype Bait from A2, to take with us. I've been using their Bait the last few times out and seems to work better than the last few brands I have used.

We tend to use a 42 inch (106cm) net over here for carp fishing. It's the pole for the net I was advising you to try. The greys one is quite stiff. The Trakker one broke on the spigot within a few outings!! Not happy about that😒

The only form of marker float I use is my fishspy. ( yes I know you don't like it yonny) but, it's not been out for a while. But it has it's place in my arsenal. I'm with you elmo, bait out in the general area, I feel is less likely to spook or warn fish, that there is a trap waiting for them. Saying that, I know some guys do very well with kilos dumped out of their Bait boat. Although you'd be surprised how much the bait spreads out on the way down (underwater footage) even the tightest spombing will spread out quite a bit. I suppose it's down to personal preference/confidence . I'm confident in a good spread, generally put out by hand or with my catapult. 7-9 freebies in a pva stocking on the hook.

The one's I use, had them for several years. Air dry after use. Very impressed with them. I brought the net from Yately angling centre for about £80-90. Nice stiff pole, worth going into the shop to test, down to preference if you like it hard or soft😜
-
I use this almost every time I fish now. Many benefits in its use. Especially the fact the fish seem to turn up after 10-15 minutes to see what's been going on!! 😉

Hi Dayvid, I was down you neck of the woods today. Going along m27 past rownhams. Broadlands looks to of burst its banks, they must be gutted and likely to loose a good few fish!! Real shame to see

How do you get on with the chunky tire Ian??
-
Agree, the only brand in fishing I will avoid, high price for very low grade quality. The few items I've brought didn't last very long and were soon binned. Poor response from customer service too.
-
Prestige mk2, my mates had one about 10 years. Mine is about 5 years, out in all weather's, & still as good as new. Another mate got the fat boy version and the chunky tyre is no good if the terrain isnt flat. He even dropped it on the first outing. 🤣🤣🤣 So I'd advise the skinny tyre, to go anywhere. I load it right up and its very well balanced, if you keep the heavier items low in the packing process. I keep meaning to change the tyre for a rubber one as it does go flat from time to time. I think I paid around £80-90.

Yep, got it in 10 lb. Still waiting for the red letter day on zigs to come though. I plan to perserver with them!!
-
I prefer a 3 turn blood knot, tightened up with pulling tools, never had a slip. The guy doing a demo at the show when I started used a simple look knot!! It's quite a stiff material, so the usual 5 turns isn't necessary.
-
Excellent choice mate! I only use their hooklink material. Hydro link is the dogs!! No need for steaming with the fluro, just pull it into the desired shape of your chod. You can't go wrong with it IMO!

Me too! Be lucky Finchley, the weather's looking good for bite🤞

You lucky bar steward. Get in mate, keep em coming👍👍👍
