I use my cane rod for stalking off the top , but at this time of year it's not seeing the light of day . So I thought I would try using my cane rod instead of a carbon rod this Winter and see if it was practical if I needed to reach the far margin ; I gather you need a different casting technique with cane than carbon . I'm a small waters man so I should be o.k. , a big pit is not for me , then I may also sell my carbon foods to fund another cane rod . 🤔

Well I'm jealous , Carpepecheur , that's very exciting , even though it sounds more Indiana Jones than fishing ! . 😁

As I understand it , the chair straddles the width of the bedchair so you need the shorter legs/ bar at the back of the chair to " anchor " it . 😀

I know the tv show has attracted criticism for not giving enough technical detail , but IMO it's so much more than a fishing program - like for me the original Top Gear wasn't really about cars , but about friendship and growing old and still having fun like a bunch of kids . 😀

Hi Elmo As a glasses wearer I've got what I call Brown and Grey clipons ; I used to have some fly fishing glasses which you could change the lenses on , and they had what I would call yellow lenses , as well as brown and grey , which were great as Dayvid says . I would love some yellow clip ons , but I can't find any .

There's Buzzards where I fish in Suffolk , Welder , they always circle high in the sky with a very distinctive call ; only trouble is I need a proper camera , rather than my 'phone , set up on a tripod ready to roll - the Buzzards don't hang around very long . Don't get me started on the Kingfishers , stand still , dam it ! , although they're beautiful in flight .

I guess you are not allowed to cut new swims even though you are in the owners' good books for bailiffing their Lake , Mufty ? .
