  1. Ginge , i've never used it myself YET but there is a paternoster rig on THIS thread http://www.carp.com/topic/1487-thick-weed-tactics/ That a lot of members on here swear by . Its a great thread by the way
  2. Good post john . Just a thought here but nobody has mentioned dumping the lead here . Would that help ?
  3. Yey agree with everyone else Phil , barbed hooks stay put and barbless hooks cause a lot more damage mate
  4. Im always on the lookout for a NEW south westerley when im fishing mate and it neednt be a strong one either they are SO much warmer than even a southerly .Autumn is usually munch time matey , they are like squirrels storing it away for the long cold winter so if they normally like plenty of bait then give it to em
  5. Well how about this . One of the lakes on the complex where i fish has had a fish kill . At least 16 20lb+ fish have gone belly up . Its very heavily weeded , has now had a load of lime slung in and there are at least 2 windmill type aerators installed ?
  6. He must be too busy to get on here . It happens .
  7. Maybe its just where i fish but if i catch 5 Carp in 100 hours i'm well happy :)
  8. Maybe its caused by that big black cloud that follows me about Must be the parallel universe thing . I cant understand it its been really uncomfortable here ?
  9. No wind mate ? Its been like Chicago this side of the river mate for about a week now . Blowing straight into my bivvy since yesterday too .... Bludy freezin' it was . Having said that its died down now . Dunno about the shallow water muft , theres not really anywhere fir em to go is there ? Maybe it puts em off the feed ?
  10. Air pressure is/has been 1016-1020 here for a while which is still quite high but i think the cold north westerly we have had on & off is more likely the problem here . Weather forecast predicts a new south westerly in the morning which is more promising . And warmer too
  11. I reckon Carpmachine will have an explanation for you when he sees this . Rightly or wrongly he has touched on the subject a couple of times recently .....
  12. Hahahahaha i've just googled it Far too young thin and attractive fir me i'm afraid
  13. Monster's a drink innit ? Am i a bit slow today ?
  14. I like the sound of the monster energy girl . Never had one with energy before :)
  15. Yeh mate the Bay . Most i've ever paid was £5.99 and i think that was for a stiff mono but the braids are as above . I just had a butchers and there are bundles of different braids and mono ranging between £2 and £4 ....
  16. Superb post Philip . Lets hope nobody else starts to use it and it'll stay cheap . I noticed in the tackle shop the other day that most terminal tackle is ROUGHLY the same price bracket though , of course , some are a bit dearer than others But its amazing how cheap the suffix hooklink materials are compared to just about every other brand . They cover just about every need , and i feel people are missing out by not at least trying it .
  17. Sounds well worth the money Guy , thanks for that mate , terrific review
  18. Phil did that happen before after or while they were mugging you ?
  19. What exactly is it about Guy ?
  20. Im told its very good . Fareham is one of the few "pro"'s i have time for .
  21. Whilst i was in the tackle shop today i noticed that Carp-r-us do a Crank hook ?????? Designed by Frank Warwick by all accounts .... Didnt get a chance to compare patterns to the Korda hooks but i wonder ..... :)
  22. I wondered why they've only produced em in barbed , albeit micro ?
  23. Thats good to hear mate
  24. Hi Dal , its only something i would consider trying if i decided to fish a different lake and i thought it was worth the risk . At the moment i dont need a leader of any description and i tend to catch ok every time i go without exactly emptying the lake . There is another lake on the complex that i MAY move onto one day . It has a bigger average stamp of fish (up to 40's) but , as i've posted before , 10ft deep and 9 ft of it weed so its something i'll need to get my head around before i do. In the meantime there are a couple , maybe 3 x 30's in my current lake , at least one of which i want before i go anywhere
