  7. Im with Milky , simple but effective
  8. Its so much easier than drilling out a bottom bait and fiddling about with cork inserts dont you think ? Besides how you going drill out a bit of fake particle ? Yeh the shot on the hair approach has to be the way to go , just a case of finding the split shot or sinker etc that negates the weight of your chosen nailer and bobs yer aunties live in lover
  9. Hello again mate , im sure the others will correct me here if they feel im way off here but are the Carp your fishing for THAT riggy ? I reckon your worrying way too much about hook angles and what not . Dont worry bout silicon tubing etc simple knotless knot braided rig with decent seperation on the hair length , no.4 , even a BB shot on it and bouyant corn will FLY into any carps mouth . Honest
  10. I reckon your thinking too much personally . Ive had sucess using a pop up with a small shot on the hair using a basic braided KK rig . You obviously want the braid to sink but it will work with floating corn as well as pop up boilies . Its apparently what the KD was made for ( depending what you read ).
  11. Great contribution Jon i really mean it , never a truer word or words said than what you have posted . Jeez i've been fishing for 41 years but im also a complete beginner at THIS game . Every day on the bank teaches and , to a lesser extent , every answer and opinion on here . Im a proper noddy and not ashamed of it , i know next to nothing about Carp fishing but still feel able to help . Its what Carping and Carp.com is all about . Well done , top post .
  12. Hope you've stocked up on cat litter
  13. Big jobs ?
  14. Yep a strawberry flavoured warm sponge in a feeder can work the oracle . Especially in cold water:)
  15. Loose feeding not allowed in minn. Eh ? Do they allow deliverance via PVA ? I know of a lake that only allows this and it gets about 50 pva stringers worth of boilies that way . Yeh i like Crow and paticuarly Rob Hughes , as you probably know he dives with the Carp and he is FUll of knowledge re their behaviour
  16. Thats the biggest one i'll catch this side of Xmas
  17. Well its either korda's new clever camou braid or its their usual tripe :)
  18. C'mon name names
  19. A lot of the time a finger nail will suffice , depends on which braid i spose
  20. Prof , are you able to tie a D rig ?
  21. I think its amazing how people amongst us adapt and find ways around their physical disabilities i really do bravo Prof !

    Hooks

Muggas sizes 4-8 Gamakatsu gp204's in 6's & 8's Fox arma for D rigs and Kamasan b175's for pop ups . Gardner & ESP for Chods .
  23. Hello prof , welcome to the forum . These photos , any chance you can post 'em ? Its still a bit early
  24. Dont discount this out of hand straight away but rotting leaves = silt . Which , as we all know , Carp feed IN and UPON. So raking MAY ( in my opinion ) decimate a possible feeding area so it may be a better option to try fishing in the detrius for a while before opting to rake it up. Hence my original suggestion and , i think , Nick's
  25. I got a two word solution for you . Naked Chod . Sorted.
