  1. they might have seen you coming back from that swim and tried somewhere else because that picture sure looks like the same swim as the pic of you holding a right old lump
  2. i think kim meant the carp but if you was live baiting your rig would only just be under the surface 18inch or so
  3. i will show them at sandhurst lewis i have not had any problems at all in fact since i started using these leaders my catch rate has gone up i only use them for chod rigs and as long as the bead slides of the leader ok and on to the line i can't see a much safer or simple rig you can fish a naked chod but that needs to be weighed down with putty or sinkers and the line some people use may not contour the bottom sweetly, these leaders do an excellent job and very slow sinking with the chod, had 2, 15lbers 1,26lber 2,30+ and my latest capture in 3 sessions all using solar leaders, and unless they get banned or i'm not allowed to use them on a water,i will carry on using them the results speak for them self
  4. i had all my cats on boilie 33lb biggest
  5. Just take Hallibut pellets(big ones) for the cats or fishy boillie think you can live bait if you catch them you can get hemp and maize there if you get in touch with them I'm sure it will be ready for you on arrival
  6. i am also going in august not sure what baits i'll be taking yet but did get through about 30k last time we went but there was only 4 of us on then, what i can tell you is its a fantastic place great hosts and great food big baits worked last time we was there 24mm doubled up infact not sure if that is still the case,i'm sure iian will put you straight
  7. Btw I do soak them in glug either cell or plum
  8. I use size 7 ESP hooks with the tic tacs but the tic tacs look too small for the hook size but let me tell you I have had more 30+ fish on this method than any other
  9. You can use Korda sinkers and push your bead over top of sinker or use lead stops and mould a bit of putty round it. Another tip is to not use hole already in bead stop but to make new one with baiting needle this will hold the beads a bit tighter on the line with the ability to slide up and down the line if you get a fish on. You will need to pull line through bead with baiting needle tho.
  10. have to agree with nick keep things as simple as possible only in difficult swims that are hard will i try different rigs just to see if something different will work but most of my rigs are very very simple
  11. nice one hope he enjoys i'm sure he will,i remember the post kim my offer of £10 towards his fuel costs still stands i will send it with my payment
  12. so would you put a new hook on after landing a fish or just re sharpen it? and does it not weaken the hook?
  13. i agree with coops no need for chod rig on hard bottom a simple knotless knot no frills, if lead is burying itself a bit just use longer hook lengths
  14. high viz jacket and red triangle
  15. http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=51162
  16. i'm sure welder can put you in right direction
  17. hunts will also be very weedy all lakes on linear complex have a lot of weed but hunts is a very nice lake and would be ideal if you are fishing on your own put pegs are far apart so not really a good social lake unless you can get the 2 pegs at top end of lake,if you was in car park swim and your mate in next one you would need to bring your rods in to go have a chat even with a receiver because i would say you would be way to far from your rods.there is only 10 pegs on hunts corner and its more expensive than the other lakes but a very nice lake with some very nice fish. hope you have a good one
  18. barston lakes but check if they have a match on first
  19. It also gave me a pb of 36lb 14oz on cell tipped with fake corn and several upper 20's and 30's great lake if you can get on the fish and if at first you don't succeed try and try again
