  1. lots of help very hard water but great rewards
  2. light lines max 10lb high rods if river is running fast the obviously not possible
  3. i did say as slack as POSSIBLE allowing for tow
  4. use longer rigs 2ft long at least 3ft is my usual length on river pva bag with hookbait inside it and line's as slack as possible.you could also take a weed rake and clear yourself some clear spots
  5. i live local to this lake and have fished it a few times catching plenty of small fish and a few doubles but i have seen upper doubles come out while i have been there so looks good, but i will say that a friend of mine paid £10 member ship so he could do nights on there aswell but after doing 1 night he said there was 6 other lads on there only 1 had paid they were also noisy and lighting fires whilst drinking the old wife beater,so word of advice nigel police your lake a bit better and you may find more people fishing it as you have a nice lake there.
  6. if they halved the amount of pegs it would be much better place
  7. sorry again then but when i fished barston and all my bigger fish came of the island aswell different bait tho
  8. i used to fish lavender regular and have had fish upto 20lb 4oz and plenty of them upto 21 fish in 24h session sorry ian but all these fish came from between the islands from the station peg and most of them fell to 15-22mm hallibut pellets with small bags but when ther price went up i stopped fishing it ,i'd rather put £15 in petrol and travel to linear fisheries and pay £38 for 48hours,steve who works there will give you good info and fishes the pool himself.nice bloke
  9. barston lakes at west midlands golf club fishing well at moment seen 3 18's and a good few lower doubles come out on the days i've been there £7.50p for two rods £9 for 3 and if you pay £10 membership you can also night fish it aswell at £15 per night it's not bad there is a few 30's in there but they don't come out often, there is a lot of small stuff to get through tho
  10. i walked round this lake today i saw fish all over lake to be honest some on there own some in groups,i spoke to one bloke who was doing 4 nights on there he was a regular angler on the lake putting in 3 out of 4 weekends in every month plus holidays .he said he had caught most of the fish in lake but was targeting about 6 fish that had not been able to catch,he reckons about 500 carp with about 10 fish over 30lb but hundreds of 20's ,he also said it's a very hard water and he puts kilo upon kilo in,(not sure on that one)but if you get a fish a night you have done well but i does look a nice place and i will be going back with my rods as i saw enough fish cruising today to convince me it's worth ago
