Not a purchase as such more of an apology and gift. Back a couple of weeks it was an air dry your bait at work day. So I did but unbeknown to me the housekeeper on the job I was working at was feeding the baby seagulls from the bedroom window i was decorating with my bait 😳 laughing she apologised today and gave me two bags of homemade frozen bait and a tub of corresponding cork pop-ups. Her son is a Carp angler who belongs to 3 syndicates he gave them to me as as an apology for what his mum had done.

Didn’t Dave Lane use a type of sling, it took two men to use it to get baits out where baits had never gone before i think I read it in one of his earlier books 🤔

I can recommend the okuma 6000 inc great line lay, nice size spool, good drag and around £60 got a 5year warranty. I use them with esp 10 rods

The reels are going to be quite old mate so you’ll be taking a chance with them … can you sell your cross casts ?

Got my set off the eBay about the same price as yours used them for around 5 years then sold to my mate who uses them regularly, I had no trouble with them 👍

It’s crazy how they keep their prices…I use a set of 3 for years really abuse them on horseshoe dragging lots of weed in. If you can have a play with them give them a spin check the spools got no nicks on them …talking of spools I should have a spool or two handy if you get the reels.

How much are they going for ?

How far are anglers prepared to go in pursuit of a carp ??… Send a drone up to spot the carp locate them then send the bait boat out with a rig all the while looking at your phone or tablet at the fish then when the boat draws near just drop the rig If I seen that going on at a lake I was fishing Il have to pack away and wouldn’t go back.

No fish this time but enjoyed the trip…. Had to sleep in one of them mummy style bags again as forgotten my bag the brother inlaw came to the rescue and brought some pegs for the den forgot them too.

On the subject of braid I use Berkeley whiplash in 0.8mm = 28lb straight through green in colour which fades over time it’s got a round profile which back in the day it never did have never used a shock leader with braid. Always wetted the line and reeled in with the tip sunk underwater if I was able.

Yup that’s a shopping list alright… for me it’s got to be Korda Kranks , il blitz some of the Krill I got with some hemp in the blender add a good glug of cloudy kill with handful of dried skimmed milk with porridge oats. Il mix it on the bank if the carp are showing themselves 🤞

Back over the dock this evening maybe for two nights 🤞

Tub of 16mm sticky bloodworm pop ups Gas canister , Krank barbless size 8 for the zigs tho I have used a 10 before. Sandisk 32gb card for the camera the last one overheated it was over 30 tbf 🥵
