How bad was it 😳

On the trips to France I would soak the hemp and maize and cook on the bank, used a cheap cooker the ones that use a long gas canister one very big saucepan used one canister done all the cooking under a old brolly Physically I found it hard to spod a load of particles on a daily basis I don’t envy you especially if the wind blows a bit. Be great if you can keep us informed how you get on maybe with some pics 👍

What happens if theirs somebody in your swim when you turn up to fish, or can you reserve what swim you want ?

I tried a Fox tapered mainline and found my distance suffered I had to use a heavier lead to combat the thickness of the leader ended up cutting back the leader and it helped. I now use Fox soft steel 35 mm which got a stated breaking strain of 18lb and happy with it 👍

Two more 24lb and the other was a low double great scale patterns and in mint condition. Got all 3 rods on zigs. Apologies for the dreadful pics 😔

Finally had a low 20 had it on an adjustable zig just under the surface in 11 ft of water… can’t lie was a bit shaky iv had carp double the size on other waters but the 1st 20 on the dock … happy days

Iv been soaking some air dried baits there about 14 mm now popped one and a chop in a glass of water just to time them been 2 hrs and they’re still firmish Hopefully the silver fish will have trouble with them and give the Carp a chance to find the baits. …@ Elmo you would have nightmares with the shoals of silvers on the dock 🤪

Back on the dock early tomorrow morning for a minimum 24 hrs suntan lotion is packed, was planned for the weekend which has a rainy forecast again 🙄 the customer I’m working for told me to go fishing mid wk and finish the job on the weekend… he’s a fellow fisherman.

Not a purchase as such but a gift one on them mummy style sleeping bags two season incredibly lightweight, as Iv been stripping down my gear to the basics I thought I’d give it a go. Got in the bag, a fetching blue and gold colour plenty of room…these mummies must be on the big size me thinks. Well after a hour in the mummy oh err, it was doing my head in I was almost sliding off the bed when I turned over, one minute the zip was up my crack the nx across my face, at one point in the early hours I was thinking of strapping myself in with a bungee…. Not recommended.

Wow 😳 you can walk across that…after you raked it leave a note saying that you going to fish it. Iv seen a note in a plastic bag attached to a stick saying the angler was going to fish the swim the nx day this was in the days of the closed season I walked right past even tho it looked a nice swim and obviously been feeding it ready for the opening day of the season.

I learned a valuable lesson on my latest trip… when you put a handful of boilies in your pocket to feed a margin swim first check that you empty your loose change from said pocket, I was literary throwing money away 😏

A blank for me again but I did enjoy the trip I only done the one night after seeing the forecast for the nx day which was for it to be windy and rain…always nice to pack up when it’s dry

Well I’m finally on the bank for what could be a couple of nights. Rods are out and the kettle is on the go. Got a good book on the kindle to finish and the dab radio as a back up.

I've seen a guy on the canal with a weed rake and asked him the same he said he used the rake when he got to the swim then set up and fished

Planned to get this Wednesday off and succeeded but just seen the forecast 🫣
