For a long time Iv been thinking about cutting down the amount of gear I take on short afternoon sessions after work, had to be quite ruthless wasn’t easy I can tell you but it had to be done ...

Iv had a run in with a deliver bike he must have been going 20mph he skidded to a stop and we both went down, sadly I lost my balance as I got up and stood on his front wheel damaging the spokes then would you believe it trying to untangle my foot I stepped on the back wheel 🫢

That’s sad losing a fishing buddy, I’m way to far away to you best of luck finding someone 👍

I’ve got the shallow as well as the deep spools. Just weighed the both and the deep comes in with line at 7oz and the shallow with line 5oz… I was a bit bored 😁

I can’t remember the last time I caught a Eel, il be well happy with a 2lb on a feeder rod but defo not on a carp rod

How times change, looked in the freezer this evening and noted that I got more sea bait than carp bait 3k ish of cell and 2 k of sticky krill 2 packs of Squid, 6 Mackerel, 2 packs of Sand Eels and best of all a dozen crabs

I feel your pain Are there 200 carp in the lake ? where did the info come from, are other anglers catching if they are tell them your struggling and would appreciate any info. The reason I ask about the 200 fish is a mate fishing a water last year found it more difficult than usual then found out recently that there had been a fish kill which he didn’t have a clue about. Warm weather is here and il be on the zigs 👍

Now I’m confused here ( I know it doesn’t take a lot ) iv got a set of set of Korum 10 ft all rounders in 2 .25 and a set of Dave Lane Classic in 12 ft 3.lb with a 3.25 that I use for marking and Spoding ..umm oh yeah 🤔 A set of 12 ft 3.50 Prologic Fulcrum … and not forgetting the very naughty set of ESP onyx Quickdraw 10 ft 3.50 The reason for purchasing the ESP set was I needed to get my gear down to a minimum and they pack down to 50 inches, the 3.50 because I was using bags as I thought I couldn’t complete with the bait that was going in the water I was fishing and the thinking a bag approach would be the best option Soooo am I a fashionable or unfashionable angler? 🤔 Or just got to much gear 🫢

I was thinking the same. My choice of weapon in the 80’s was a Daiwa Paul Kerry 12 ft quite tippy teamed it with an Abu 7000c with the level wind removed Lee Kerry who is an England international match angler is his son

I had the same thought on the weekend, been sea fishing lately 4-5 hr trips with no cover been looking at mountain warehouse clothing with uv protection very reasonable prices
