I found the LED not very bright in daylight conditions much improved with the under-lit version

Got rained off from work today so having a sort out, found 4 korda spods which I had taped up the bottom half that was for the hemp , chops went above then a little ground bait gently pushed in to keep it tidy. Tuff work winding it back in as the spod would hold the water in.

The Korda style spod which I used way back to get floaters out you hit the clip lower the rod and you hardly cause a ripple. It worked but there was not much of a spread ….Got to be a hell of a lot of the old spods in sheds around the country gathering dust

Thanks for the info 👍 Been having a look on YouTube seems straightforward to use. I can see it being perfect for getting out mixes beyond catty range many’s a time you get them feeding then the breeze picks up in your face and that’s the end of that. I fancy trying out an adjustable zig with a floater at distance….it’s going to open a lot of water to go at 👍

Oh yes, no brainer really my mate had the other so cost £10 each.

There’s a shallow far margin on a lake I fish that you can see the carp move along hopefully this will solved the problem of getting bait out there without spooking them.

I was fishing last weekend when a mother and her son he must have been 12 ish turned up to fish the nx swim the wind had got up and they were struggling to hold onto the bivvy and put the pegs in, the ground was solid I popped over and between the 3 of us got it pegged down I mentioned bringing a mallet nx time, the granddad turned up late afternoon and brought them a pizza and gave me one as a thank you The gesture made up for a iffy trip 👍

That was a close call. 😳 We fished it right after the floods on the day it reopened it looked dead which in a way it was the river had washed something in the lake and there was a fish kill Iv never seen so many crayfish in the shallows must’ve been starving with no angles bait going in, the bailiff seen us setting up on the disabled swim and said don’t bother go fish St John’s. (I can see a pattern forming here 🤔)

Well mate it goes like this…. We turn up to our pre booked swim that the bailiff had placed a stake with a laminated note saying the swim had been booked for the 48hrs, this was way in advance I believe 4 days, and theirs two guys fishing in there 🙄 looked for the sign and couldn’t find it. we drove to the office had a word with Chris the fishery manager and he said he made the sign and a bailiff said he seen it there on the Wednesday. Chris apologised and sorted a swim out on the Tar Farm set of lakes and said we just had to pay for the one ticket….. And we blanked 😏 Haven’t heard anything today from Linnar so il send a email off tomorrow to see if they got to the bottom of it, we were thinking next time we go il phone the head bailiff the day before to make sure there’s a sign up. Some might think we got to fish and for half price so it wasn’t to bad …but a 30llb plus fish is on my mates bucket list and oxlease is the best bet to get it. The organising he’s got to do to get away for the 48hrs you wouldn’t believe and I won’t go into his personal problems here.

This should have been shot at Oxlease disabled swim but in fact is taking at lake 5 peg 3 which thankfully is a disabled swim on the Tar farm complex… we’re not happy bunny’s tho

I’ve only used whiplash in the green .14 which I think is around 40lb that’s in 8 strand it fades in colour over the years but that doesn’t hurt the line. I used whiplash before it went over to 8 strand and that’s was just as good. j don’t bother to splash the reel will lake water I feel that only wets the surface coils of braid instead I under hand cast then a couple of casts further winding the tip under the water, I also put the tip under the water as I wind the spod in every time I cast Good luck with your choice 👍

Bit strong lads All I want from a cool bag is to keep the food and bait fresh and liquids cool for 48hrs and with the room for the gas and stove with a small ridge monkey and bits and bobs. And it does it in the heat of summer no problems….All in one bag.

You sounded like your doing an after match football report on match of the day 😉… but what a buzz getting a carp on a zig you almost can’t believe it when it happens. 👍

If I had a single bleep il be looking at the tips mate a carp could be trying to get rid of the hook maybe been on a while. I try to set the bivvy up as close to the rods as I can if it’s dark just need a flick on the torch to check, and I have the rods at slight angle to the water a bit like quiver tipping. Always near the rods even when I’m in a hot tub 😂

Hey crusian 👍 I had a bit of trouble with mice in the past in the shed, all bait was stored in metal bins with lids and I was catching a mouse a day using a trap called little nipper higher recommended 👍. I told the Mrs the story and she piped up must be the big box of grass seed she put in there 🙄 Traps are set all year round for me
