My last trip was a bit of a social with my maté’s grandson and son-in-law coming along The lad who is 11 started when he was 9 using a whip then progressed to a float rod and feeder rod …but he never has had a fish pull back till he gave me a hand reeling in and netting a carp, was great to see the shock on his face and he went on to catch carp to 9lb…Iv masked his face in the pic wasn’t sure to show it The guy opposite us had his daughter who was 10 years old fishing I had a chat to them and complimented her on her casting and catching her carp

A somewhat different view from the bivvy for me been to a 4 day music festival just got back yesterday and I’m off for a 3 day fishing trip tomorrow somewhere in Somerset. 🤔 Had a great time with family and friends and drank very sensibly what with them charging £6 a pint 😳 so i took 3 hip flasks filled with dark Rum each afternoon and evening

I noticed they got the 8k spools back on the shelf’s gone up in price tho …but that’s a good deal you had 👍

What a great trip you had Nick and well deserved 👍 Thats a crazy weight gain bodes well for the future.

On my recent trip it was the 1st time in awhile that I used the 8k, been using the 6000s up till then, and I was a bit rusty took a couple of casts and was fine then but even messed up using the sticks the 8k felt huge.

I bet there’s a big difference in the weight of the reels

With the hot condition's on my last trip 32° degrees in tbe bivvy, i think Iv came up with a money spinner idea, just got to sell it to Trakker or any of the other lot .. obviously dont want to give to much info out but the idea is based on a triple layer bivvy. Here’s a pic of a prototype.

A PB and one off the bucket list with a 12lb 12oz Bream and it was a a privilege to see one finally, had it on the carp gear which was a pity. Linear has been good to me over the years with the 3 Roach over 2lb in a mad 30mins spell,, Common Carp 46lb and now the Bream.

It’s been a while since I boiled up Hemp and Iv missed the lovely smell…it’s weird but I’m getting excited it’s the same feeling I had when using Richworth tutti-frutti and then Cell.

Just checked on my hemp that’s been soaking for 30 hrs and it’s spitting… been stored in a airtight bucket for over 2years, forgot I had any 🙄

Received the two floating feeders from flea bay today…the floating pellet's are Sticky baits in 11mm and 6mm that’s what I can get inside the bigger feeder still allowing to plug it with ground bait

I wanted the sticks with a screw point my local didn’t have any. The reel is a Garbolino, 5000 size comes with a spare spool is smooth and has a nice line lay. Got that from my local I had 6 reels on the counter giving them all a spin this felt the best they check and match the best price on the interwebb And the tempest gear came from the local.

The sonu bait is east to mix I add the plain crumb to bulk it out 👍
