I can remember vividly back in the day double hooking a small carp the hook had went in both lips had to snip the hook with cutters, could have been using Esp Raptors long shanks 🤔 that was the last time I used a long shank

Iv got a set of Okuma 6000s use them on my ESP 10ft’s had a crazy catfish in the low 20s and the reels were fine you’d have no trouble handling a big carp on them. I missed the above bit of your post Nick was mesmerised by the frost on your rods 😳 A neighbour needed a hip replacement she was getting down in the dumps what with her lack of mobility, the pain and the long waiting list she ended up going private she sold her car to partially cover the cost and her family helped around £10,000 was the cost 😳 if I remember correctly.

The brother inlaw and I have got a gentleman’s agreement, I always get him a £20 gift voucher from game, he’s into his playstation and he gets me a £20 gift voucher from my local tackle shop win win. ..I seem to recall when he came over this Crimbo for a drink and we had a few 🥃🥃🥃 we had a chat about how you don’t get as much for your money these days, so decided that it’s only fair that we up it to a £30 gift voucher. 🤔

Well the Crimbo list just got a tad longer, A customer of over 20 years got in touch today wanted to give me a Xmas card in person and to thank me for helping him move house earlier in the year. I opened the card later on today and there was a cheque for £40 nice I thought and then I thought had they done away with cheques awhile ago 🤔 I showed the grandson as he’d never seen one and he said what you going to spend the £400 on …maybe new glasses 🤓 I wonder if the tackle shop is open tomorrow 🤔

Stepped outside the front door this morning to go to work and what a change in the weather, ( which I new was coming ) a warm wind almost had me running back in for my fishing gear

In my younger days I used to nick the neighbours bamboo canes he used for his runner beans Il tie elastic bands around the tops to hold them together for a rod stand worked a treat, a day after a late night commando raid to get some canes for my mate there was a knock on the door it was the neighbour 😳 here you go and gives me a bunch of canes and says I thought if I get you some canes il have a crop of beans to look forward to.

Need a rucksack badly, the one I’m using at the mo is getting to look like a landing net 😏

I follow the fish locker too he’s a knowledgeable angler, the two huge Tuna he had a couple of years ago on his 16ft boat while fishing for porbeagle was great to watch 👍

I used to fish for smoothies with a bass rod, baited with peeler crab rotten bottom to an old spark plug or bolt which snapped most of the time great fun, the rod must have been made of fibreglass showing my age there 😄

It do look bleak, but looks stunning 👍

Getting milder nx week from Sunday Il give the fish a chance to get used to the changes in the weather then maybe fish the Wednesday 🤔

Hows the weather where you are ? Well in South Wales been -3 for a couple of days but seen no snow yet
