    I’m self-employed and find I’m always chasing my tail, I just can’t say no to a job 😏… got 2 holls booked up, my own syndicate which Iv neglected and my fishing buddy who’s under the knife on the 1st of march having heart surgery so when he’s back fit and wants to go I’m off….. Steve if your reading this and I know you pop in now and then best of luck with your operation… and don’t worry mate if it goes all pear shape Il look after your mrs. 😉

    I know I won’t be attending the social but if I can suggest Linear Oxfordshire if there’s a group booking they will reserve pegs on a bank for you so not to far apart, easy parking and a shop on site Also Orchid lakes, home to the 30’s as it’s called. stunning lake and they drop your gear off at the swims which are bookable

    I had a year on the “Shoe” as my mate called the lake… Clear areas ? We did struggle to find them if I couldn’t I fished the margins to my left and right and had some success there 👍… including a 7lb ish male Tench which sadly I had on the carp rod.

    Spring is on its way, Leave for work just as it’s getting light and back home and still got a bit of daylight, Daffs and crocuses are up and about with the Bream getting down and frisky

    A fishery near to me has put a ban on spoding particles, you’re allowed to only spod boilles and pellets Iv heard of others putting a ban on particles as well.

    There’s a coincidence, just finished this minute some Ronnie rigs, I don’t use kickers with the Krank hooks just shrink tube.

    Sorry about your loss mate. As for the social il have to decline sadly 😔 what with my own fishing and with my mates… oh and work just to hard to fit everything in…. But if I win the lottery you lot can fish my own lake any time you want.

    I can remember vividly back in the day double hooking a small carp the hook had went in both lips had to snip the hook with cutters, could have been using Esp Raptors long shanks 🤔 that was the last time I used a long shank

    Iv got a set of Okuma 6000s use them on my ESP 10ft’s had a crazy catfish in the low 20s and the reels were fine you’d have no trouble handling a big carp on them. They come with a 5 year guarantee the line lay is great and a nice drag have a play with one when your at the show And welcome to the Forum 👍 g

    I missed the above bit of your post Nick was mesmerised by the frost on your rods 😳 A neighbour needed a hip replacement she was getting down in the dumps what with her lack of mobility, the pain and the long waiting list she ended up going private she sold her car to partially cover the cost and her family helped around £10,000 was the cost 😳 if I remember correctly.
