Well done mate, looks like you had a good session and a couple of nice bass there.

I'm going tomorrow night.                         The smoothes have arrived in the Northwest along with the bass and Thorneys. Plus all the flatfish and doggys, So I'm hoping for a good session.

I went to Rossal Beach Blackpool tonight and caught 1 Bass, a baby Thornback Ray, a plaice and a doggy. A most enjoyable evening spent by the sea I loved it.

33 minutes till I'm lake bound.

Doing a cheeky apres work one, I've been flat out all day to make this happen and after a run of bad luck recently I hope I'm lucky. I feel quite hopeful tonight dunno why come on the carps.

Good luck elmo, let us know how you get on mate. 😁👍🎣

If only I got a bad back from fishing it's usually something pathetic.

Picking up a hair brush off the TV stand (irony alert )

Bending slightly or maybe a little stretch at the wrong time.

It wouldn't be so bad of it was action man injuries lol

My back has gone several times over the last few years and think the worst was when I was brushing my teeth, I bent over to spit in the sink and my back locked and I couldn't move for quite a few minutes and when I could eventually move it was the most worst pain ever.

Im guessing you mean tackle/set up so hope you get sorted out soon mate.

Yes mate tackle and some terminal bits for my rigs, I'm still waiting too get my rod back after having  eye replaced . The wife has bought me a new Ian gold tripod for Christmas. I'll just be using the 1 rod set up for the time being until I can get myself another rod and reel. I'm trying to sell my bedchair and brolly system at the moment that should buy for a rod and my birthday in February so hopefully a new reel for that.

I'm 90mins drive from my nearest beach, that can be from Brighton in West Sussex through to Southbourne in  east dorset. Luckily i have 3 very good and renowned Tope  beaches inbetween Brighton and East Dorset so I know where I'll be heading. Already got the first 2 weeks of May booked off. One week on Chesil beach for the plaice and hounds and the second week in West Sussex after tope. Can't wait.

Sounds good mate, I wish I lived closer I'd come and join for a session or two. I'm itching to get out on the beaches, I just need too get a few more things sorted and I'll be there, I can't wait I've not felt like this for a very long time about any fishing. 😁👍

I’ve been watching the fish locker workshop trying to loosen the rusty sea fishing skills.

I also watch the fish locker workshop, I watch more of the shore fishing than the boat fishing, boat fishing isn't really for me, I'm sick as a dog soon as it gets a bit choppy.😂😂

My next year's target though is to get into some Tope.  I had one this year,  not that I was fishing for them but boy what a fight and what a fish. I need to catch me another one.

I been watching lots of YouTube videos and I've seen a few on tope fishing from some beaches in North Wales and I wouldn't mind catching some myself. In the summer months I love catching smooth hound and I would imagine a tope is like a smooth hound on steroids.

Exactly the same for me, fell out love with carp fishing and with what it had become. I took my spod rod down the coast one day, brought some ready tied rigs and not looked back since, that was 4yrs ago now. Last year was the first time id not carp fished for the entire year and the same this year. And like you it involves lots more driving, I fish the south coast and my nearest beach is an 80min drive  but It doesn't bother me.

Whereabouts do you fish from the beach?

Well at the moment I'm still getting some tackle together, I've bought myself an original penn 525mag and I'm getting a eye replaced on my beach caster. I'm in the North West so I'll be fishing the Blackpool area which is about 40 miles for me and when the weather gets better, I'll be going to North Wales around about 150 miles were i want to fish but the travellingis all worth it. I can't wait mate.😁👍

  10. I think my carp fishing is over for the foreseeable future, I'm just so bored with it at the moment, I won't be renewing my night card or day ticket. I actually went shore fishing a couple of weeks ago and I'm back in love with my sea fishing, I went with a couple of mates and had a great time, I only caught a few whiting but the thing is you don't know what's on the end of that line, I had to borrow a rod and reel from my mate, because I'd sold all my gear but guess what I'm starting a fresh with new gear and I can't wait. I did keep 1 rod and tomorrow I'm going out to buy a new reel. I will be hanging around on the forum and keeping my eye on things, it's been great being part of this forum and had great advice and learnt a lot in my short time in carp fishing but my first love for fishing has always been sea fishing even though it involves more travelling and cost but I don't really care, it's all about enjoying my fishing and over the last 2 years I've not really been enjoying myself. So I wish everybody tight lines and great fishing and catches and will be keeping an eye on things.

    All the best Keith.

By the way them Cygnet hooks didn't do it for me, 2 takes and both times they managed to shake the hook before I lifted into it.

I've used the Bank Tackle hooks curve and wide gape for quite a few years now with no issues at all and they are cheap as chips.😁👍
