Back to pastures old
buzzbomb and 2 others reacted to elmoputney for a topic
I've almost planted the seed of a 48 hour session to the misses as it will be my birthday in April, I started thinking about all the stuff I could do, like reel the rods in, go for a walk about, drink a beer in the morning, afternoon nap and those kind of treats I don't normally get to enjoy, if I catch something it will be a bonus but I'm just gonna relax the Heck out of it and switch off from the world for 2 whole days csmt wait š3 points -
Quality Baits 50/50
welder and 2 others reacted to elmoputney for a topic
It is cheap because its a 50/50 mix with some added bits, the patshull Park mix would do the job better I think, and still not expensive, Personally If you want to save some money prebaiting I would use pellet and particles much less hassle than rolling bait yourself, and will do a great job3 points -

I was thinking the same, but with the amount of Noddys that will be out, I don't think I'd end up on top of it, so will just fish for a bite at a time to start off with... Booked on for Good Friday 24hr, 11th April 24hr.2 points -
Personally if I was looking at saving money I'd put less of a decent bait in rather than more of a bait I wasn't 100% confident in. If bream were a problem then the tigers would be joining the party too.2 points

Quality Baits 50/50
Carpmaster reacted to elmoputney for a topic
Bream will eat boilies too mate š I tend to invite all to the party when I start prebaiting, they all help to clear the spots and I always think the other fish will make the carp investigate, Everyone seems to think pellets =bream, but I also have complete confidence they help me catch carp too, Blakes baits is pretty good for pellets and particles free delivery over Ā£401 point -
Quality Baits 50/50
Carpmaster reacted to carp_anon for a topic
Yeah I plan to bulk the mix out a bit using these, but thereās a lot of bream on the water Iām fishing so am hoping to get a few boilies into the mix as well. I will give these a look, although last time I checked there was a very sizeable delivery fee! But for Ā£35 for 10k canāt complain at all I suppose! Cheers for the advice guys1 point -

I second that, Iāve been an avid premier baits user since the mid 90s. Itās brilliant stuff. The randoms as above is a good option, or if you wanted to go all out, buy a basemix off them and make your own bait!1 point -
If you want to pre bait with boilies then take a look on premier baits website. They do something called "randoms". Ā£35 for 10kg.1 point

Well I've just been on their website and for me I personally wouldn't touch it.1 point

Braid for hooklinks, rigs?
Carpmaster reacted to salokcinnodrog for a topic
There are some decent braids around for mainline use that aren't mainstream tackle brandsš You just have to double check every one first, getting other angler's advice and experiences. I think I paid Ā£15 for 3 spools of the braid I have on my marker rod and pike rods. That has definitely been better than a major tackle brand braid I had been using1 point -
Can you get worse
Carpmaster reacted to salokcinnodrog for a topic
Forward this weekend to BST. Blanking can be a sad sign of winter, even if you know where the carp are getting onto them may be difficult, especially if other angler's are on the lake. I must admit I have not been putting much in recently while fishing, but a number of pike trips have enabled me to prebait a little bit with mostly Vitalin and maize. I know where there were fish on Saturday, let's hope they are still here today... A full day from sunrise until...1 point -

In addition, Iād use it for tying up my Sweet Peas in the garden. Seriously, for something as important as line, stick with branded, reliable manufacturers/brands.1 point -
