Thought of the Day pt.2
emmcee and one other reacted to elmoputney for a topic
I've managed to switch my Sunday for Friday this week I do have to be home by 10am Saturday morning though but I thought it looked too good, with the full moon and the pressure, I've been putting a lot of free food into an area and just feel its rude not to be trying, I am going to top up the spots today on the way home and hope they will primed to drop In on tomorrow,2 points -

I know what you mean. I've got lots of work to do around the house this week so won't be on the bank. Proper low pressure, full moon, everything is aligned for some hauling.2 points -

MOT Check Try this Site. Enter the reg of the vehicle and it will give you the mileage and any failures or notifications on any car going back several years. Came in useful when my daughter was looking at a car and the amount of advisories and the severity of some of them made me advise her to give it a wide berth.2 points -
I am completely unable to get any time on the bank during the coming weeks but for those of you that can, this weekend is looking a bit spesh. Most places have been fishing well during this past few weeks anyway but the weekend sees the massive drop in pressure many have been waiting for. Most places have now spawned so the fish will be on the feed-up. If you boys can get on them I foresee some BIG results on the horizon. I recommend taking a fair bit of bait if you're fishing. Prime, prime conditions.2 points

Nick's rigs.
pablo7uk reacted to salokcinnodrog for a topic
Just a couple of pretty simple rigs I use. The hair is tied to the rig ring, so I can change the length if I need to. I suppose strictly speaking not basic, but pretty simple. (Dave Chilton) Kryston Snakebite, line aligned and a sliding ring on the shank with a double 20mm KMG bottom bait on the hair. The second rig is a Kryston Merlin to Amnesia combi-link, again line aligned, sliding ring on the shank and a snowman 20mm KMG and a 15mm Garlic spice pop-up. While the leads are on run rings, because of undertow I do tend to fish tight lines1 point -
Yeah I agree your right, I feel like I've tried to do so much learning and changing during lockdown ready to move onto bigger waters with bigger fish but then the sessions I've fit in since we've been allowed back on the bank just haven't gone well at all. I think based on the feedback I will persevere and move onto the new venues and see what happens1 point

LIFE ISN'T ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORM TO PASS...IT'S LEARNING HOW TO DANCE IN THE RAIN !1 point -
Haha must be me! I'm pretty sure my fishing ability had gone out of the window since I started changing things up! I use size 4 krank on various rigs, blowback on coated braid with a stripped back section or Ronnie rigs with stiff boom or a short coated braid for in pva bags. I have also tried a stiff D rig but not caught on that yet. One thing I had thought is that it could be smaller carp that maybe don't get hooked well with a size 4. I fish a lot of venues that have a good number of single figure carp. I'm going to start at fisheries like Wyreside, Clearwater and Lakemore hopefully in the next couple of months so I don't think small carp will be an issue at those places.1 point

Reservoir virgin!
commonly reacted to salokcinnodrog for a topic
Going back to spawning; even though the reservoir was closed until this week, the carp have spawned at the end of May, in at least two areas. One is the nature reserve end of the reservoir, where it shallows up and is fairly weedy, the other is near the deeper dam wall area, a small shallow bay. I was shown spawning footage, so good I was able to identify a particular fish to the ranger who showed me. Sorry, the only gripper leads I have used is the Korda ones. I found a few on the bank at the reservoir or round and about. They do grip, so I do tend to use them mostly for pike fishing to tether baits on rivers.1 point -

Wow they ARE interesting. It looks like you will get more grip per weight with those. I would make some modifications. 1) I would remove the swivel, drill a hole place an insert and convert to an inline lead (personal preference only) 2) I would force a washer through the widest part of the centre hole to form a large gripper fin, that will not tangle. I have tried to make a diagram to show the idea but my Photoshop skills are rather limited. I hope you get the idea.1 point -
Thought of the Day pt.2

Quite a few of my mates use these vans & most are happy with them . The only thing I would say is that the clutch is normally in need of renewal around this sort of mileage, so something to ask if it's been done or not .1 point -

Looks alright paper work looks good so not much to haggle about. you could mention the road tax is getting high on diesel engines asking for a years road tax will get a better response than trying to knock money off for any other reason. I run a 2 liter diesel, love it the the fuel costs are better than my 1.3 fiesta petrol.1 point -

Looks like it's had a bit of work done on it tbh so that's probably a good thing it's been serviced and has a long mot and stuff , probably worth going to have a look just remember if something doesn't seem right it's not the one,1 point -
My nephew runs a fleet of 5 of these for his building/roofing business. He describes them as reliable workhorses as long as serviced regularly. He, my son and myself went to Windmill Lakes, France in one of them last summer. No problems whatsoever. I was impressed how fuel efficient it was. Ian.1 point

I think so, I'll find out all the do's & dont's on the induction. 70 odd ft in the middle. So yep very long!! There was a chop on the water yesterday, causing discolouration 4-6ft from the bank, weed was visible, looks really clear. The bailiff said the light doesn't go much deeper than 18-20 ft, so the weed cannot grow. He's caught from the depths, to prove a point, but said its not easy.1 point -
Full Moon , I really dont like fishing a full moon, but that doesnt stop me , whether its sociological or not I seem to catch less .0 points
