elmoputney Posted December 12 Report Posted December 12 Use some kind of magnifying glass to aid with tying rigs? I'm really struggling to see close up at the moment, uncoated braid was a nightmare when I tried a rig yesterday, in the coming years I think I will have to use wire and shark hooks to be able to tie them. I was told it was the bait boat of the rig tying world to use a magnifying glass and that it was cheating 😮😭😱 jules007, yonny and kevtaylor 1 2 Quote

As for getting uncoated braid through a hook eye, join the club, it's a nightmare if you have it decide to 'split'. I just wet it and hope it doesn't spread. Seriously if you need a magnifying glass, or reading glasses, it is helping your vision. jules007 and Deano 74 2 Quote

Already wear varifocals, but I still look over the top of them 😁 If it doesn't get any easier I will try one lol Most of the time it's fine when I use boom and krimps, but I wanted a solid bag rig, ended up using a coated braid and stripping half of it, not as supple but easier to tie. jules007 1 Quote

Golden Paws Posted December 12 Report Posted December 12 Form a loop through the eye of the hook with some dental floss, poke the braid through it and then pull - simples. I've still got to use my strong reading glasses to do it though! elmoputney 1 Quote

No camou tape on the rod butts, no dinky 3 rod buzz bars, where if you get a take on the middle rod, you can’t strike it without knocking off the other two, no folded reel handles… barely even trying also, 12ft rods?? That’s so 1990s… where’s the 6ft sawn offs and bread bombs? 🙄 barry211, framey, jules007 and 1 other 1 3 Quote
