Welcome to the forum mate, unfortunately I canāt help with the waters in your area but Iām sure someone will be able to help or point you in the rite direction. -
Oh trust me mate.....long term members donāt get first dibs....itās first come first served, so get in quick .you should have seen it kick off last renewal time for exactly that reason....they wasnāt quick enough and they lost out.....I felt for them.....but I was also highly amused spectating/lurking on the forum watching the fireworks
-
Really sorry to read all of this mate š but on the āstill searchingā bit......have you been to boreham mere yet? (On the club ticket) itās an absolutely stunning lake and holds some lovely carp nice and close for you, and come next season when you can get a night ticket could be just what youāre looking for
-
And the winner is you sir! Now to let you into a little secret. I entered a raffle and won 2nd prize........ 48hrs for me and a guest on the day ticket lake š so it wonāt cost you a penny mate (well apart from bait/food/ drink etc) we can have a chat at some point and get a date set for it Iām not in any rush to use it so autum/winter would be fine with me. Although if you was looking at membership i believe its Ā£25 for lifetime membership of the dayticket (you get an Iād and a key)
-
Does anyone fancy a 48hr session on bayeswater dayticket lake? Obviously to be arranged at a mutually agreeable time/date. Preferably Thursday evening to Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon/evening to Tuesday afternoon/evening purely because weekends can get busy and these days will enable better swim choice. Anyway if you may be interested leave a comment

Well humans make mistakes mate, I used them again recently via eBay (bought a nash bp6 reel) said it would be a week and turned up two days later, it funny how one company can give such varying levels of service
-
I like how the true order of service where monster munch are concerned was published perfectly by three diferent people.... 1. Flaming hot (all arguments to this are irrelevant š¤£š) 2. Beef 3. Pickled onion
-
Couldnāt agree more! Iāve done three seasons (not exclusively) on braxted back for one tench and one 29lbāer but I agree with your sentiment when the time is rite and youāve done the leg work things will come good. absolute banger of a fish too š šš»
-
I also had two sets of the old Avon scales with the window that changes colour but they became unreliable very hard to zero/ not able to zero so bit the bullet and bought whychwood digital t bar scales a couple of months back......in true spr fashion Iāve not had a fish to test them yet š¤£š
-
@yonny you just stepped into the frame my friend š Iāve always read your writings and enjoyed them so over to you mate

My thoughts will be about as much use to people as a chocolate tea pot in front of a roaring fire š¤£š my thoughts at this point consist of.....Iāve regularly been getting done due to my lack of knowledge surrounding lead arrangements and shall be trying running rigs at the earliest opportunity to see if it improves a) my catch rate and b) my bite indication. @greekskii ās post has given me some food for thought and hopefully a boost to my catch rate.....but we shall see
-
@greekski you sir have just flicked the switch for the light bulb š” in my head! Great write up and Iām going to be looking into running rigs straight away.....as you may be aware I have posted quite often about always getting single beeps but nothing else and not catching very often and your post really made me think about how I use my leads....90% of my set ups are leads clips....10 % chods (with drop off system) all 3 of my recent fish have fallen to the chods. And Iād never even considered that it could be the way Iām using leads so thank you for the insight

I have a chub super cyfish 2 man - doesnāt get used anymore due to being way to big and buying a scope ops brolly system which suited me perfectly until I got the Titan tc pro at an unbeatable price scope ops brolly - goes in the car when I go fishing no matter what.....just in case Iām in a confined swim,or head to the river and it will also be used in winter for day sessions otherwise itās the.... Titan tc pro goes everywhere with me and is super quick to put up and pack down has loads of room inside for all my gear so does me perfectly. And the vents in the back where a god send on Friday night I think if I hadnāt had that little bit of air movement I would have headed home -
Go on eBay save yourself a whole load of carp tax and normal money by doing so. Taska :- 222847067598 unbranded :- 263837929118 (I have this one, and as you will see they are nigh on identical)

Very nice and an absolute bargain to boot! i have a trek alpha 1.5 that I occasionally get my chunky but out on š¤£š

What else will I require?

Whilst sorting your rod licence check out the environment agencies web site I believe they offer free sessions for young /inexperienced anglers and taster days, may. E worth looking into just to brush up on the basics/ knowledge. Enjoy š -
I bought these ages ago.....not used yet but worth a pint at the price https://www.wish.com/product/new-bait-casting-machine-fishing-wheel-sports--fishing-5b19e326f4e37044dd14c75a

Well in stevo, cracking write up too šš»
-
Following on from the above....itās not a carp but it was my first fish from bayeswater......on a zig too
-
Iāve heard a drill with an old spool or something like a spool does the job nice and quick š never tried it myself though (read no responsibility implied or taken)
-
If it makes ya feel better mate PayPal always say that just to cover their but, usually only takes a couple of days
-
Iāve used them via eBay on a few occasions and never had an issue...quite the opposite in fact......always found them to be very accommodating and excellent customer service. what you have said does not sound good though ! They shouldnāt really be selling a product they are not in possession of unles it clearly states itās a pre order, at which point you pay your money and take your chances as we all know companies canāt control the supply chain. Hope you get it it all sorted out š

Yeah sneezing, coughing , getting ādone overā by my three year old and played their part in making mine worse.... as for how š¤£šš¤£š i took some stuff to the dump and the skip was nigh on full so thinking I was clever lent my rather large frame over the side to put the rubbish further across (so it didnāt spill out) and there was an almighty crunch followed by a few expletives and a very painful drive home...that was three weeks ago....Iāve carried on working since it happened which hasnāt done me any favours (Iām in air con/ventilation and extract - read āblooming heavy equipmentā) but bills to pay and all that. On a major plus Iām feeling a lot better than I have been and managed an overnighter so happy days. hope you feel a bit better soon mate š
