You know when you just can't catch a break?
Yeah I'm not out I was going to brave the rain but she has broke her foot badly last week so that definitely called it.
Tell ya the next amateur civil servant that looks at me sideways is getting maximum abuse...😇

Wrap sticks cannot give you line twist unless you're taking line off the clutch👍

Had a couple of nights on the res.
No fish, again. 🥺
Always nice to get out, even when the bivvy decided it was going to leave without me, a few times in the wind this morning😳

In the great scheme of things, I'll not be voting in the election this time round...
As a pensioner I've seen too many abuses of power and privilege over the years, I think this years election will see one of the lowest turnouts in history, people are sick of all the infighting and point scoring rather than genuine work to better this country
Billy Connolly has it right... "any desire to be a politician should automatically preclude you from being one"
Politicians are in it for money, perks and power... nothing else...
Don't encourage them...

First trip of the year tomorrow but been busy buying stuff I dont need in prep obvs 🤣
Got the Solar undercover Pro sleep system, lighter than my SP Tech - will be on the barrow again this year so trying to lighten the load. Got for £205, seen after on AD for almost £450 - unbelieveable ripoff.
3 pots of NS1 pop-ups discounted from a show in Essex.
Bird Torch - same show.
Then as I'm not buying a new 1 man bivvy and going back to my old Avid brolley system I justified that the money saved could be spent on the Fortis Tundra 🤣 Got the bottoms from the show with a £20 discount. Then the coat after at full retail 👎
Oh and the Diawa 18 Emblem Spod 35 SCW QD Reel because my Shimmy Spod (new) ceases up whenever it's left out in the rain or damp (rubbish, what a let down thats been).
Think thats it, broke but happy! 😁😎

Not sure I would trust them long term but they certainly have bigger fish to fry in the short term.
I think we are facing much bigger issues than banning fishing though at present, labour and tories both complicit in a genocide a vote for either is a vote for evil. The right wing chancers reform are just a bunch of lying racist fascists, quite frankly if you have a decent independent in your area vote for them or nothing will change

Been 4 months since I've been able to get onto the syndicate, but even in the wet weather I still love it here.

Take care mate... you'll get the bug once more... In 2011 I lost my dad and I packed up for 2 years... my lass told me to leave the gear in the garage in case I started up again ( I did)
When I returned it wasn't the same, but the enjoyment for fishing was still there, I later packed in match fishing and got into vintage gear... I've not looked back... I still have my carbon carp rods but they are rarely used now.
I now don't fish as often as I used to through ill health (collapsed back and knackered knees) but when I do the thrill is still there..
Look after yourself... 😎👍

Trying to plan a visit to bluebells later this month, it's my burfday on paddies day if you ask me but I went over the clock so the 18th it is and that's why I didn't get the ultra cool Patrick name. I'd be like the king of the travelers with that pedigree.
Anyhow, deffo getting out and two days on Mallard could be just right for a old fella like me out the wagon no barrow needed.
on a side venue note, Ecton lakes have moved their runs water, Greab onto a day ticket water, bit pricey but we'll worth it.

Just stocked up on bait kit, five kilo of DNA switch plus bits and a 25kilo bag of pellets a nice low oil one that will absorb a food signal liquid.
Really am looking forward to getting out, not getting a club ticket this year, I'm doing day ticket waters starting the end of this month all I need is batteries and a unhooking mat and I'm out out.

I've been and spent far too much on sea gear recently after catching some decent thornback rays on the Suffolk coast.
Admittedly second hand but another Daiwa 7HT and Seahunter Beach caster and a shelter
