50 years, WOW! That's impressive quality, are they still producing rods? Any chance you could elaborate on the abbreviations mate? Apologies if I'm being ignorant.

Nice one mate. Fair play for getting drowned, getting the great photo and perseverance

As the title might suggest, I'd be interested to hear what fishing tackle you've brought, that has lasted and been good value for money. Hopefully , helping out others to invest in decent gear (some mark 2, 3, 4 versions can be lower quality, although not always the case). Looking around me, I have 3 items over 10 years old and still going strong. JRC 2 Man bivvy (takes a pounding on the res, but almost as good as new) Shimano XTR1000RA Baitrunners. Ruben Heaton scales (hardly used🫤) Most of my other kit has needed to be replaced, due to failing the test of time. Thanks in advance guys

Thanks Elmo. I was torn to mention on here, as I'm quite likely to blank my but off😄 Really looking forward to it. Only got that long as it was my 50th this year. Work, family life and life have meant things don't always go to plan, but you got to make the most of what you've got. I can at least post a few views from the bivvy door and rod shots though😎

That's almost a new set up mrmud. I've got 10k cell 10k isopro sweet. Hydrotuff in 20lb (had this on since 2020, with no issues at all, just need to reload the spools), tungsten putty and a replacement fox silk swinger. Got 6-7 nights on the res this weekend. Full moon next week (I'm hoping that might give me an advantage??) Happy hunting.

Joking aside, it's not nice at all. I can't hear anything on my right side. Hopefully get a jetflushsaver and be sorted. I can't imagine what it'd be like to go completely deaf

Strange you say that. My right ear has been blocked this week. I'll make an appointment. Take care BB

Hello mate, you're not far from Yately. Quite a few good lakes there. I don't know what the waiting lists are like. But try the tackle shop, they're very helpful and might be able to point you in the right direction. Be lucky

Is that a new Pb mate?

Any good mate? How much weight would it hold??? My rubbish bag gets quite heavy by the end of a session

Renewal of res ticket. Gone up £40??? For what?? I'm not too sure I'm getting my moneys worth. However, after visiting a commercial day ticket recently, I feel very lucky to fish there and have all the space I could ever want😊 Now, I just need the time to put in a bit of effort and find the fish

Sounds like your doing covert ops. Trying to catch someone in the act??? I'm sure these camras were mentioned on a thread last year mate. Maybe try to find tlthat post??

From what i understand, Carp will pick up most food items, out of curiosity as much as anything else. It's getting said food item in the right spot that matters, more than what it is. I have heard a few Polish guys using potato and uncooked pasta. I've not tried that myself, peperami is as adventurous as I've gone

What line should i use for my carp rod?

Korda size 6 spinner hooks (barbless!)rules are Booneys 😫) CC Moore live system bucket and frozen snails. Nash worm liquid Reading up on the place, naturals seem to do more bites than boilies, so I'm going out my comfort zone a bit
