  1. Just been sent this from a buddy, cracked me up
  2. Have you tried doubling up the bag or mesh? Should give you a bit slower melt
  3. The pants or leads???
  4. Hardcore, love it! Good luck buzz
  5. Not too bad, caught my pb mirror 30, not quite snow, but near freezing about 4years ago. Pics are on an old laptop, so can't include it. My old syndicate, took a few years to unlock the secrets, then I'd catch regularly no matter what the weather.
  6. If I'm prepared, I don't mind an overnighter, been quite a few times in minus 2oC, had a few fish for the effort too. Pack up first thing & head fora nice hot bath!
  7. I second that mate. But I like being married & the perks that brings! Roll on retirement in 20 years!
  8. Mine have been collecting dust for a few years now!
  9. Did anyone else the tumbleweed blowing down the street??? Need to get a new troll for a bit of xcitment on here
  10. Nike sliders offer a bit more cred!
  11. No just the monsters!! Alot of them have been eaten!! (re thought of the day)
  12. Well I've either got to wait to win the lottery or the kids have moved out, before I can afford the trip. Yeah. His last few & upcoming ones appear to be out at sea?? Surely a spin off is in order?? Sea monsters? Doesn't have the same impact!! Lol
  13. Just watched last week's monster carp. Thailand, some lake run by a father son team. OMG! They had a red letter sesh & a really good laugh. Braces of Siamese carp ar 100lb one caught to 150 lb!! & Aripima (which I think is a beautiful fish & on my bucket wish list) That episode, whilst cheesy, is up there with one of the best I've seen
  14. If they are eating our quarry??? 100% both!!!
  15. They're as bad as the EE's. Flip all you can do about them on alot of waters. Good air rifle or crossbow for both of them!
  16. Where was that chilly?? The owner of the syndicate I joined put nearly a mile of electric fence round the complex to keep them out. I wouldn't have a clue how much it cost but he obviously thought that it was worth it. Seems the best way to keep them out.
  17. Absolutely none taken, I was kidding fella, just flicking on latest activity & nothing new came up for a day! I've been there twice. On socials with a mate who can't get a ticket on my syndicate. It's a commy water, but has some nice fish, no BS, like a lot of other day tickets I've been to round my way. That whole locking the gate thing should go under silly rules really! There's a traveller camps near by, so I guess it's done for a reason. I stopped & bought a bacon butty in Clapham Common the other day, there's a little lake for fishing, I thought there's no way I'd do the night on there, but looking at the rules, someone must do.
  18. You killed it Dan! slagging off Farlows! Lol
  19. 1st fish this winter, hopefully do it again soon. With a bulldog lure!
  20. Nothing on the dead bait. Note sainsburys £1.80 for about 20 spratts, tackle shop £6 for 4spratts! My mate brought the bulldog lure, £12 produced 2 jacks one not much bigger than the lure itself & one about 5lb. No pics at the minute, as I had to hold the bigger one with the kids. Great fun, nice to be on the bank for a couple of hours
  21. Got a couple of hours dead baiting this afternoon. Buzzing to get on the bank. Taking my 7 year old son, he's as excited as me! Hopefully a pic to follow!
  22. My main syndicate is pressured, so as always the gulls are an issue. After the first catapult or sound of boilies plopping into the water you can have half a dozen going on 20,all eager to have a free lunch. I either wait till dusk or the advantage I've found with a spomb, is to leave it for a short time before retrieving. The gulls won't break the water all the time the spomb stays still, as soon as you wind in they will try diving for your bait. So I wait long enough for it to drop!
  23. Katapult, large, good range with a dozen or so boilies, upto 8-9 wraps. Best catty I've had, although you have to change the elastic every now & then. Anything over that distance, large spomb. Very useful to get out smaller offerings, including maggots. Got a stick, never got on with it
  24. Me too, 2 Rod rule makes me consider the possibilities a bit more. I do believe too many lines in the water can make the fish wary or turn them off. Quite comfortable & happy with 2. If I was fishing a big pit or reservoir I may go to 3. I've never had 2 go at the same time, although I've got 2nets, it'd be impossible to deal with 3 or 4??
  25. Club waters can be good value for money. I went as a guest to a local water, a bailiff did come by each day. Some of the waters round here get poached by the 'anians. So most established waters are being vigilant. I fish a syndicate and an estate lake. The Syndicate I'd expect to see at least one bailiff, normally 2 every day. There is 4 lakes on the complex. 1 private hire so they tend to check all is OK there & clean toilets etc. Tackle & safety equipment is checked for the first few weeks of the new season. Been there a few years now, so pretty much left to get on with it. The estate lake, no bailiff to speak of. Rules are standard EA on the membership form. Only seen the odd Angler, over 5 lakes separated by river & wider systems. I could run around naked and not see a soul. It's a little bit of paradise! So. I could say no bailiff at all works for me!
