  1. Method feeder on a runs water i took my nephew to barston when he was a kid just to make sure he caught, hasn't looked back since been doing a bit himself on farm ponds he is going to try proper angling this year with me he seems to think i can just rock up to any lake and pull units out lol, i promised him a bit of nene valley angling for this year he is a real good lad no drugs at all through personal choice, poor lad was ill a few months back something to do with the sack around the heart can get inflamed, it happens to regular coke users the hospitals don't like to treat it it if it's drug related, he don't even so much as drink never mind coke, in fact he was spanking those cans of monster energy drinks, i will get him on the Tea.
  2. Perfect blokes getaway Towcester racecourse fair price for a lake exclusive fishes like a quality runs water and you have the town itself with all the olde pubs and stuff https://towcesterlakes.co.uk/
  3. All over full of jacks and some big ones 15-20lb easy and zander full of them, think it may be a little late for pike though they spawn anytime soon? there is a disused bit of canal near jct 3 of the m6 if you can find it and it's not too wild with overgrowth that might have a few nice fish in, it may be silted up these days i haven't been there in a long time, never fished it.
  4. Norries son my dad was friends with your uncle and aunts as well, John would remember me best from your family hope all are well the book looks good glad you haven't made it read like a great career option you must know better than most the reality of a long time in jail.
  5. Reels i use are the emcast 25 a can't fault them perfect for light 10 foot rods fox rods are always nice three EOS rods and the reels would leave a bit for line and tackle.
  6. had the saber before i think got it from erics, ended up getting the two section one from advants, don't look like they do them, i'm after a three section at the mo 9m handle, best i have found is a grays funnily enough hardly any others in stock.
  7. Advanta do some good nets at angling direct, i know what you mean about the price of nets crazy, i use the advanta cost around 40 Jrc are normally spot on with their kit, i just sold a 10 year old JRC bivvy, nothing wrong with it other than sun damage.
  8. Sod it it was years ago, when i say solid, the guy paid for my dad's funeral no expense spared my sisters went full limit even bought a plot of land had the horses out and everything proper send off, the guy got me set up in a real nice council flat paid for my driving test and lessons bought my first car and gave me enough cash, i could get my first carp set up, custom rods and all the latest fox gear, even offered me a job which i did look into as i sort of knew the ropes anyhow, but i had to be honest about it the potential for violence and the every man for themselves when it hits the fan, is just not me. It's not many people to be truthful, just they don't know that until it's too late, i did my bit in a young offenders as a kid, not something i want to go back to, but strangely enough it can get you a bit of respect from some very unusual people?
  9. New book out this week looks good called The old man and me, it's a true crime book based on the life of a Coventry bloke I know it will be a good 'un as i knew the bloke real well him and my pops used to get up to all sorts, plus the bloke done me a proper solid when my dad passed, some of the guys i meet over the years was something else and everyone of them would make sure dreamers didn't try to copy them, long prison time is no joke they made sure i knew that. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Old-Man-Me-Jason-Wilson/dp/1913406881
  10. yous lot buying dodgy cars i'm the same got talked into buying a car i wouldn't normally look twice at she has been ok to be fair just a bit temperamental cold gearbox oil is a problem in modern cars KIAs at least. You can't beat a ford that's pre Z tec, the sub frames go on those before the engine and gearbox.
  11. Nice one blue Tom still got it the Bob Dylan track he recently covered was better than Bob's version.
  12. wowzer just heard this and thought it was a old track i never heard before which would be near impossible as i'm a connoisseur of stoner punk/jazz music. new band out of the US like all the best, funny that. They doing records for the rough trade lacle, think that is ran by SLF went to see them live back in the 80s proper mad.
  13. Looks good, plus John Baker is there with some new bait making ideas test packages his baits really are on another level even just making a paste to go with your regular bait is enough to see a difference, that plum flavour i just got is plum fresh just bitten into ripe plum not sweet shop plum. the man himself with a few test packs, John's slinging testers lol, got to say they look perfect for a paste mix, that taste f2 base mix is on my summer list
  14. you ain't seen nothing yet, i looked at a very comercial syndicate/club a good few lakes all managed by people that don't fish i watched a welcome video the person did not have a clue beyond running a lake for money. tell you how to fish and where, tubing must be used and they will pretty much shoot you for daring to use a leader. nothing wrong with tubing i plan on using a bit myself this year, but to be told how to tackle your rods up before you even get there is a bit much.

    Dogs and fishing

Behind me Davie and push me forward... see they got a few pics up of dave looking all cute and butter like might nip in and see him this week, he looks like he has lost a bit of weight i said they needed to cut the food for obedience out with a dog like dave i still reckon someone is shaking a sausage at him in those new pics, he is my sort of dog other than when he play fights it can go from 0 to max in a blink of an eye but he is still playing, i seen a video of when they first got him , put him in with two well trained german shepherds that could handle his rough play, i got to say i didn't fancy their chances much, he was all over them with a big stupid grin and a waggy tail the dog just didn't care.
  16. not sure, the titan is the best bivvy on the market in terms of safety and weather proof it's the one reason i'm trying to get a decent bivvy this time i fish under trees for the most the titan can take a falling branch easy, looks i will be klamara-ing a replacement really liking the look of the new trakka aqua tex 100, 200 up front and 50 a month on the never never over 6 month interest free? i hate debt but needs must.
  17. Me and winter fishing? oh heck no i will be calling into a tackle shop today for a few end tackle bits those things that add up when you leave it to the last, that's about all the fishing for me till mid march might drop on mallard for a few days here and there. If i can get the money together i might get a year ticket for stanwicks, that will give me a few nice options in the same area.
  18. I think it is down to the lake and what the fish are used too, i'm pretty sure on waters that mainly see top HNV baits using shelfies or instant attract baits gets very little interest in fact they might even do the off due to other fish constantly checking and rejecting what you have put out, where as on a proper match runs water the same shelfies are fine to use?
  19. Wacker also run Towcester lake on the racecourse think it is a fully bookable lake for groups of anglers, looks like a good social water. good group of anglers you can pick your bait up from the unit and chances are it wouldn't of been frozen if you catch it right had a few anglers real interested in them due to the out the bag freshness they are almost as soft as paste but crumble like a cake very well made.
  20. I had to chuckle today a certain someone really is petty, just looked at the latest catch, i never look as chonged as perma pale face ........., he will sell a bit too and is well known too, asked me if i could get for him? er no i don't do that, plus when he seen what i had he couldn't figure out it was CBD lol they sell it in a fair few shops near me, makes a change from vaping when on the bank without smoking a ciggie which i nearly started again.
  21. it is i surprised myself i was on the list years back but never heard anything until now, sent the offer out last month.
  22. Yeah got an offer out the blue they sent emails out to everyone on their mail list first come first serve nice price in comparison and i would like a ticket on the other lakes if i can get one.
  23. I Tried a range of shelfies last year at the start I wanted the convenience of being able to grab out the shop when needed as i was a bit more skint than normal, and didn't want to bother Andy the local bait guy for the odd kilo here and there. Couldn't catch on them and not for want of trying, the fish in that lake just will not eat them for me, I switched to JB base mix and flavours made hookies and bait and seen a big turn around first time out with the Milk and Honey had a few good uns out, didn't fancy rolling multiple kilos by hand so I genuinely found a bait company out the blue local to the lake i fish Whacker Catcher, i didn't know nothing about the history of the chap who owns the lakes and the lads at the bait place, it used to be called The Dogs Bs years a ago started by the lads father, i bought there feed bait one called Ecton Berry, a load of the lads seen it on the lake and had a chuckle about will it catch wackers and did it it was not long after that things got a bit hmmm. those lads do a good bait and great post service, i didn't say anything about the Super Milk paste from JB i was using, never leave home without it a bag makes a nice amount of paste.
  24. Had a look at the new water today very nice 5 acres it's a few mile down a green lane so the awd comes in handy and the extra clearance wouldn't of fancied that in my fiesta.
  25. oh, if anyone sensible that lives in the rugby side of the midlands would like a introduction to a nice little water very quite and unheard of got some love fish, shout up and i will ping you the details over not sure on price but it's not silly money and more importantly it would a very good foot through the door to other lakes, can't guarantee there is still a ticket for this summer but the next winter ticket will be a deffo, that's open to anyone of any level of angling just so long as you are sensible that is all that is needed.
