  1. that's the bit that always got me confused i thought the pop up mix was something you could add to a basemix at say 40 % to make pop ups. i guess it's how mainline and others make their for sale pop ups? with the polaris type mix?
  2. those mean terrier guys lol they love him getting the kind of advice you wouldn't expect from such a group of people he has a real strong interest in horses when i explained it to the guys they quickly stepped in and advised me to be very careful in that situation as he has gone into hunt mode, he sits and watches not a sound. they advise i get him to a dog trainer which i already planned on doing, going to book him in at the dog kennels for the classes they do. I will take is as a compliment from some of those lads when they say he won't work they are the kind of dog owners that can annoy me with there do or die attitude. their dogs though, and they do know their onions just wish they would be a bit more pet friendly, they look down on any dog that is not kenneled.
  3. Thought i'd better do a freddie progres thread save filling the fishing dogs thread. Take it as a warning about nippy little terriers that sometimes aren't that little and need firmly but nicely keeping inline as i have said this is scamps third home, she renamed him after her fav singer due to him singing us the songs of his people all the way home from getting him. think he would of been heading to the shelter if i didn't take him, two others had already refused him too big to be a jack. he would be one of those dogs that can't be rehomed once they ran him through their induction. he had a real tick undercoat that had never been removed and his top coat was far too long for a constant maulter, he let me sort all that no bother finished him with a stripping comb, looks nice and not shedding everywhere. he has no problem with me doing that from day one, i once had a cairn that would hurt you if you groomed her wrong, no problems from the fredster. wild little git for the first few days but very nice and friendly, i did get him a head halter on friday he don't like it but will have it on when he earns it by mouthing off at other dogs it does calm him down and he walks real nice on it, so that's a start, he is still a pup at 2 years old last march, kinda getting tired of experts asking if he is a mix, even the guy in the pet shop was flapping it really was struggling to hold the P word in, yet over on a site where they keep serious terriers there is doubt the Rushill line jacks can work, not that it bothers me i knew nothing about the dog when i got him real lucky find, he does not have a staffie or P dogs front legs the gap is far to narrow plus a few other things other than the size and shape of his head, massive with a very fine set of teeth nothing like you would see in any type of bull terrier. the mrs is absolutely smitten with him she thinks he has staffie in him. not even dave has the front legs of a ground terrier but he has got the big bone crusher teeth, same for my Patterdale he had a crazy looking set of back teeth, i'll go with what the guys on the dog site say, it's a non working/ working country show dog jack russell.
  4. i'd be ok with that sound like a full flavour packed single, as a side do you add any base mix to the polaris never used it, already got some nice base mixes and bits in for paste wraps, might do a few boilies as well, got a sneaky feeling the Indian spice or bio shellfish from JB will be a real stand out bait going forward good quality soluble krill meal is near impossible to get some bait companies are ending their krill bait due to cost increase. JB imports his krill himself said to be the best krill meal you can get. Always wanted to try the polaris but have been put off by the lack of mixing instructions for adding basse mix or just using it as is, should be able to get back on track with some home rolling myself, fred will love that.
  5. got a couple of retired driving instructors relatives they say it takes a non driver their years in age to pass a driving test never too late, or you could try the freeman of the land approach, just sit in the car and refuse all offers, lol. my cousin burnt out as a instructor really is a hard job, when i done my test the examiner failed me on the first test and she is friends of family members, don't get no nepotism in there.
  6. i should've got a citroen berlingo they have a ramp fitted you can get the barrow straight in fully loaded, they go real cheap used ideal carp wagon. plus they will of been looked after the car i have is a ex motability lease they sell them on after three years, all the paperwork was up to date with dealer stamps.

Ahh just like all good terriers if he needs a vet it will be on a bank holiday, he has a long dew claw that needs to come out looked like it was coming off, he caught it in his lead the other day and half ripped it out, to say he is not happy would be an understatement, still not aggressive from it though, he jumped on my bed yesterday and knocked it fighting me, proper lost it, still, we went out yesterday and he had a small child jump in front of him and do jazz hands, he gave her a lovely fuss even with his sore dew claw.
  8. If those monster drinks were sold as a solid block of the same ingredients sold as a pill or a smoking product they would be banned. little fella looks keen after the large carp, he will be coming on every session be after a carp dog next.

One last thing to work on and it's a big one, i may have to admit defeat, and get the dog training lady in she does classes and he needs better dog socialization skills, i can take him to a hound pack farm where they do classes, he is ok with other dogs so long as they don't react to him. a few classes with the right group of dogs will help he is fine with small dogs he does like to let the larger dogs know he has an eye on them. his posture can be on another level especially as we have been doing three to four long walks a day all his fat has burnt off looks ripped.
  10. had two ST's fail once you start using them for 20lb plus fish the DLs were starting to go so i just went with a set of emcasts, lovely reels real tidy line lay.

Fredrick update. Coming along nice and steady very friendly and soft with us and most other people not keen on blokes who look like they are just out without any reason not a bad thing he just chuffs at them, will let complete strangers handle him the lady in the pet shop fitted him a harness he was more than happy. other dogs, not as interested as he was a week ago, although he did try to batter a dalmation up the woods the other night, nothing major, the dog was off lead and went to approach mine but the other guy made a meal out of getting his dog on lead and stopping in a narrow gap of the path, bit of a clash when passing, the problem is my dog will go into cry and it can be a bit intimidating for other dogs. he is much better than he was and takes verbal commands to stop and stuff no treats needed just good boys. works every time. little swimming lesson just incase. Full HD,
  12. good guy nige straight lace family guy so the video sounds about right, i will give it a watch later. i can get a backlog of hook baits so i only buy what i need, i got ecton berry hard hookers, stink pink pop ups, peach and pepper wafters and pineapple pop ups. i will add P&P pop ups, ecton berry pop ups and that will be me, will also be using paste as a hook bait wrap.
  13. very nice you will have to train him to be a judas otter. Shure i seen a flash of one the other day way too big to be a rat crashed through the undergrowth in a drainage ditch and off under a fence, could of been a mink the fur was too glossy and nice looking to be a rat. I know a certain lake owner that bursts into rants about pictures of cute otters on shopping bags lol. the otter as it increases in number don't seem that interested in large fish especially in weedy waters, they seem to be looking for a regular and easy food source. i know in Alaska the otter all live around people raiding bins and fish factory waste and that's with salmon in ankle deep water on their last legs.
  14. Drove past Terry's shop in brum the other week he is still open thought he would of closed, must be his family running the shop?
  15. walk it out or distance sticks trying to get it on a spool won't leave it at a uniform wrapping around a small line spool, those factory machines load it on tight.
  16. not that i would but it ain't half tempting to get a bit of the cherry red, that would save a few quid for sure, just don't fancy pulling out a green lane running on red.
  17. i have upgraded or replaced a few items it was needed though my original plan was to klarna a few things, glad i never now. reminds of when i was at barston a few years back guy out with the mrs and kids had the whole catalogue with him, i set my gear up and his mrs started to list off what i didn't have with me like you shouldn't be angling without all the carp gear, cradles and that all set up ready to use, think he had been telling her a few porkies. lol.

the one slight niggle with fred, and he only does it with me, face biting lol very gentle with it then again all terriers can be face biters Dave from the trust had a serious potential for it, i don't mind working with it so long as it's done like puppy play, little git. I don't think he has bonded before with a human, he won't leave my side he was covered in sweets when i got him stuck in his fur. got him sitting and staying, goes to his bed when told and is starting to recall, all since saturday.
