i was in a hire car so that was a left side drive trying to change gear with the window roller, would of been a lot more normal in my own car.

no but i would like too just looking at some of those lakes, would have to polish up my scots accent first though, the french love the scots, always liked the look of nash's old lake right down in the south, but that would be a beach holiday combo so i doubt i would give the fishing a proper go. she would be up for it to the right venue. I very nearly sacked the regular fishing this year and was going to do the lakes with accommodation, then i got offered the ticket i have now. plus i've only drove on the right once that was in switzerland. i just stopped the car in the middle of zurich and mad my mate drive, we had a tiny suzuki and was on a mish lol. enjoy your holiday elmo being french they are bound to like cheese and garlic ๐

What Equipment do I Need?
Carpbell_ll replied to Gato_Amigo111's topic in North American Carp Bait, Tackle and Equipment
a light catfish rod should be an easy find in the US, a sea casting reel, 15 lb line weights hooks and bait, will see you fishing, might want some sort of mat or bit of tarp to unhook the fish on and you will be golden, you don't need much to get carp fishing, most of what you see us brits do is down to serious competition on the lakes, carp fishing in the US would be a lot more wild and natural. -
Chest waders. What do I buy?
Carpbell_ll replied to welder's topic in Carp Fishing Tackle and Equipment
even the dog was chuffing at them the other day, made a loud suction gargle growl when i took off the boot, fred thought they were growling at him. -
Chest waders. What do I buy?
Carpbell_ll replied to welder's topic in Carp Fishing Tackle and Equipment
see i do use the search๐ any views on waist waders in the house, i need a new set my neoprene ones pretty much just flood from the knees down, so it's time for a new pair, really like the look of the vass waist waders but being a skinny git i struggle with sizes not much point in getting them if they just hit the deck every time i stand up plus most other waist waders are super pricey, anyone got a set i doubt the one size fits all waist will work for me., might try the fox light ones not a bad price in comparison to others, the lightweight vass ones look a bit too rubbery. -
just take the one, the most feisty dog out the two don't worry about a bit of barking it only disturbed's the anglers and not the fish the birds make more of a ruckus than any dog

I had similar turned up sunday to a few left on the lake come monday just me and one other on there, then some chubby bloke came round and asked me why i was fishing they closed the lake, i was like eh? yeah just seen a few spawning he said, so sent a message and they closed the lake, to be fair both me and the other guy on the lake hadn't seen any spawning, they let me jump on the big lake for the night as it was tea time and a bit late to be packing up and heading home, chubby guy must think i get up and constantly monitor facebook, thought he was a bailiff at first... still no spawning when i left. rod n dog shot, that's what fred thinks of the last two days

i prefer taking a dog, fred has come along great considering he was rehomed twice before i got him, no idea why as he is a real friendly dog think it must of been his excitement level, which is an easy fix in a terrier believe it or not, all you have to do is let them know they have gone too far by ignoring them works a treat, although to be honest if some other dog owners seen how i first had to discipline him they would call the RSPCA you only need to physically overpower them once then do the ignore bit. he loves fishing, don't even eat his dinner the day before i go too busey following me getting my gear together.. he was even behaving like a carp dog with ducks just in front of him not a murmur, couple of weeks back he would of exploded, he is just like my patty, as soon as he sees me packing away that's when i need to watch him, tied him to a tree knowing he would slip his harness and go for a swim, he didn't let me down lol.

just as an add, i have no problem with getting nasty jobs that others don't want, the worst being a toss up between full time night cleaner at the city rail station to cleaning phone boxes, caretaker at a homeless hostel. the last being a good jaob and a nice place to work, but i never signed up to be a cheap social worker/mental health nurse, then there was the petty crime very violent and off the scale.

pretty much all recycling is worthless most ends up in landfill the material is worthless as scrap in this country, it's just another form of mild fascism always has been, if it goes in the blue bin i will put it there even though i know it's just going to get sorted and dumped or burnt. most if not all the centers are funded by tax money and grants they would make zero profit as a stand alone business. then you you have the forced labor at the sorting centres... that really goes against everything i consider to be human rights, they don't even bother me with that stupidity, forced to work sorting other people's rubbish... yeah you just know i will be there bright and early with a spring in my step, quoting Karl Marx to the proletariat.

a lot of places are putting all sorts down in the pegs mot whatever that is would be what most use, fishery near me put gravel on top of a barrier sheet, flood in the rain as it takes time to get through the sheet looks nice though.

JB likes to treat his bas mixes as untouchable, nice guy that will take time to respond to emails, he put me on the milk and honey mix with TM1 not a combo i would pick but john trckons that's a bait that will get eat if you put it in front of them, i had them coming right up in the margins for it in a peg that don't get fished much, it's all the yeasts in it, very complex bait, starts off with a noticable fizz in the aroma, onces it has been in the lake overnight it gives off a real meaty aroma. would love to know who supplies him.
-
i have a plum flavour i will use, also have JB's TM1 which is a strangwe flavour used it last year the carp where looking for it, that was in a milk base mix though so not sure it will go in a fishmael bait?
-
Getting ready to put my first order in for the trop, liking the look of it, is the fruit flavour a must or could i use say a sausage flavour, and a cheese liquid in place of one of the fish liquids they use on the web site, i take it the mix is adaptable in terms of flavour and hydrolysate used in recipe.

Oh ment to add, https://www.carpparticles.co.uk/ are real goog plus the unit they work from was spanking fresh and clean all big pro boilers kept spotless clean, the shelfies come in a small bucket with tray as well, five kilo in juice.

to be fair think i would struggle to fish a zig couldn't use a marker float so the adjustable zig would of been a pain too much floating silk weed, looks like a out and out chod type water, might try a pine pool half zig on a bed of the silk weed, inline lead and a length of nylon line just a bit longer than the weed depth and a wafter to sit on the weed like a freebie. long chod, lol. works close in.

noticed that, just thought i'd confirm the prologic range is worth buying. they will come down in price soon be a nice bargain for someone the avenger for less than 200 is pretty good, see a lot of buyers saying they struggle fitting the peak, you need to put the peak bar in before you use the tension strap and pegging out.
-
highly rated the prologic range, the avenger is real good for no condensation that top wrap with the roof vents work well together, all good quality zips that 360 venting is real nice always got a draft flowing even on still hot days, cooler in the bivvy than outside, the inspire range would be well worth the money.

depends on the size of the lake really, a 10 acer lake just needs the anglers to not fish into spawning areas smaller waters might need to close, i'm going to get out at least once more before june they i've thought british carp a few generations in may spawn earlier than they did 20 years back. my club lake only had me on doing overnight, few other anglers doing the evening. the other big lake hardly had anyone on, had a good look around that, said to be a few fish in there that hardly come out, not surprised there are lakes with in the lake, plot up in the wrong area and you might not even see em.
-
just back, no joy nothing comming out as they are getting ready be a few weeks yet so still possible they are just not really feeding plenty of moving around in small groups, the particle i used was good quality from https://www.carpparticles.co.uk/ i got the hemp and tiger shelf life and some of the pellet to mix in very immpressed with the hemp and tiger i would of thought it was fresh if i hadn't bought shelf life. the weed is getting chocca i found some clear spots in the middle but a lot of the lake is getting there, a deeper to find gaps would be brill, would need to be sure i could read it before buying, i still struggle with the 2D reading view, in term of area width in the scan, need to watch a few vids.

Variations on the theme, Multi-rig or Spinner rig.
Carpbell_ll replied to salokcinnodrog's topic in UK Rig Tying
i got tiny micro swivels on mine, chances are i will be using rig foam or rubber corn so the weight of the swivel shouldnt matter too much, i got them from gemini tackle also using their hook in a six. the business end -

just knocked up a few multis using jelly wire from pb products, added a tiny bit of shrink tube on the eye to keep the D section nice and open in the right shape. got a 8 inch version for a bottom bait and a five inch rig for a pop up.
