colemans dual fuel all year round for me ,ive bought £10 worth of petrol and its lasted me all year
it wasn't cheap but ive probably saved the cost of it in not having to buy gas canisters and it works properly in the colder months

dalthegooner reacted to chillfactor in Korda Distance Sticks
Just seems like a faff to me especially if you've had a fish so didn't clip back up before you reeled in .
Having to reel in your other rods just to walk out one of them out, so not to leave them unattended could cost you fish .
Sticks for me

If I'd had a fish and still had 2 rods fishing they'd be staying where they are..... reeling in is just bad angling.... sticks are much, much easier.

dalthegooner reacted to salokcinnodrog in Haynes Carp Rig Book
I tried reading that book, sadly it has over 1000 pages, and most of them are blank...

I fish at 120 yards on a couple of lakes. If I was to walk the rods out, I would be banned for being away from the swim! 120 yards is a fair way to leg it back if you get a run.

I use 2 old bank sticks with hi-viz tape off an old work coat taped on them. My tackle tart mate goes mad !!!

If anyone has fished with me, they will have seen my pathetic, bent, rusty old aluminium bank sticks I use!! Tramp!!!!

dalthegooner reacted to chillfactor in Weigh sling recommendations
You may as well get a weigh & retention slings rather than just a wiegh sling smufter.
I completely agree with the earlier post that using your net is poor fish care & shouldn't be encouraged.

dalthegooner reacted to welder in Big bait runners
Shimano Longcast Big Baitrunners. I use three and love them to bits. They are ideally balanced on my ageing Greys Prodigy's in 3lb test, customised with full cork and Fuji reel seats. An ideal combination.
