  1. Just thought they might be worth a look, not if they are heavy though, I really liked the tx2's tbh, I wouldn't mind a set of those next, they were slim and stylish still think the wychwoods have got more distance in them though should I need it, apparently I can cast those 191 yards 😁
  2. You could have a look at free spirit ctx rods, 13ft 3.5lbtc £431 for 3 from Johnson Ross, not used them myself but I know l free spirit are highly regarded rods
  3. This blooming thread nearly made me buy some more pop ups last night Luckily I resisted, I went out to the garage, still have tonnes it's fine, 😁 Got some orange and pink ones to take again now 😂 So that gives me orange, pink, white, brown, beige, yellow, red, should have it covered
  4. Could be a curveball to hide the truth 😉 But I'm not that clever and I don't really know that much 😅
  5. This is dynamite colour explanation of what to use and when may help you 👍
  6. Personally I just use whatever, and try different things on all rods, will maybe switch another over if I catch on one, but not too bothered about flavours being the same or different colours, if they work as they should, and stand out a bit I'm happy I want my hookbait to be noticed, I will usually have a matching pop up, and a banana one and usually a brown black pepper + proper job to start with, I think you have 3 different rods try 3 different things, one thing I have noticed I can't find a favourite hookbait that seems to really stand out above all the others, it's usually the one you least expect that rattles off 😏
  7. I have a couple of ngt black ones I use if I need a storm pole they haven't broken yet, seem OK for the money
  8. I forgot to add I wouldn't let it change me 😁😁😁😁😁 I once saw someone walk into a shop and ask how much is the euro millions tonight? Shop assistant 12 million Bloke just turns and says that ain't enough for me and walks out 😁 I'm not sure what world he lived in but I don't know anyone whos life wouldn't be more comfortable for a 12m boost
  9. Surely the major down side with those if one goes wrong they all do? If I won the lottery I would just buy all the alarms i quite liked, and also a few nice rod and reel set ups for every eventuality, and a range of bivvies and pretty much everything I may or may not need 😁
  10. I've just finished creating these Defiant mps heads Iceatope ice green 3x15mm Cygnet pivot arms (also have chains) regretting not getting 3"a bit though but 6"will do for now 😂 Just need some stainless hockey sticks to complete the look now
  11. I think 11 years may be too long for it to be classed as fresh still 😳🙄😉
  12. How do you know that they haven't already been taken though, if I was fishing for carp using maggots I would expect a lot to be taken by nuisance fish on my water, and I doubt it would get a pick up from them, I tend to think from viewing my prebaited spot if the action slows from the rudd tench or bream flipping over it, there isn't much bait left and I would top up then, having fed the rudd in the edge half a pint of maggots doesn't last long, but you don't tend to see the rudd in the deeper spots so much and the tench, bream and carp don't seem to give themselves away so readily either at the moment so it's back to guesswork 😁
  13. That's the same for me, the more I go the better my accuracy and it feels more natural. tbh it didn't seem such a priority when I was younger though, I think nowadays it's something the kids are learning straight away, I watched the latest pitchers vid the other day at Trent View and there tactic was to cast further than everyone else by fishing at 150yards they got closer to the fish than anyone else i enjoy watching Tom maker vids he is a machine, I wouldn't mind being that accurate at the distances he fishes, he just keeps it simple but deadly accurate
  14. You can get a full range of tx2 and TX4 they do a 13ft intensity version of both, i guess the main difference is materials used,
  15. I was struggling to be deadly accurate with a midi spomb at 12 wraps today I was either too soft or too hard on a few occasions, perhaps made for a good spread of bait though 😳 😁 I didn't try letting one fly though just got the job done tbh maybe another time Probably not a bad idea to have lessons though I don't think 😁
  16. Nice, well worth it then, if the big lake is empty today when I get there I may try a bigger than normal chuck with the lead, just to see if I can improve 😁
  17. There are vids on the tube of him or his tutorials using them another reason why I didn't mind recommending them 👍, did you have a tutorial ? If so has it added yards to your casting, having not needed to really cast before it's something I need to get better at tbh, I fancy having a go on a big pit just to get better at it
  18. Fail to plan, plan to fail and I love it when a plan comes together 👍
  19. Shimano tx2 might be worth a look, I had a look at them in a shop and thought they were nice rods for the money
  20. I'm not gonna be shy with the bait this winter I am thinking fish little maybe bags or single chods but pre bait quite big for when I am not there, it might not pay off but if I can get them visiting the spots then I may get a bite or two, I've got a bucket of pigeon Conditioner in the car for a spot that needs some TLC, will check it Wednesday or Thursday to see if it's any firmer if not will add another bucket elsewhere if I can, I am going to try and have 2 or 3 spots working for me and using mainly particle will hopefully keep them visiting, my old swim and that area will probably see a lot of pressure so I am thinking if they get pushed out into the open water I can keep them there for a bit with less pressure and freely available food. We can but try there can always be a plan B 😁
  21. I've just used my mini urnie for the first time, you were certainly right, boiled up some pigeon Conditioner, so much gloopier, I was thinking I would have a load of excess water to deal with but none, ain't no going back now will be experimenting with all sorts next year I think 👍
  22. We used to have massive bonfire parties when we were younger my mate had a big garden we used to collect stuff to burn for weeks, they were brilliant fun loads of booze loads of fireworks, loads of fun, and that's why I still don't think I should be allowed to be a responsible adult with fireworks 😁
  23. Had a little firework display In the garden tonight, I thought the kids have missed enough this year, was strange being a responsible adult in charge of fireworks, but the kids loved it, We have a little path to the woods behind our house just after I let the first rocket off, I heard a JEEESUUUUS CHRIST 😂😁 I didn't think anyone was there must have scared the stinky winky out of the poor guy 😳
  24. I used to use the Pro clear many moons ago, I quite liked it, I use Gardner hydrotuff now, I don't think I would change back I would have a look at any Gardner lines, people always seem to have a decent word to say on most of the range, hydrotuff suits me for now but would happily try others if I needed too for another purpose, I also really like the Kinetic spod braid, 👍
  25. OK if you are hell bent on using this method, I would use a different liquid that won't just float straight off out of the area like a hydro for instance , and also why not just spomb the sand out or make groundbait balls with it, and create a bigger area of attraction
