  1. It's curry time, welcome to the bombay bivvy club, this one is an aldi sauce I'm using, have to say it smells amazing, comes with a spice mix and a sauce, perfect for making a decent curry bankside without the faff,
  2. I always do lol especially as I have an 8 hour shift at work before it's even fishing time, I have my end of year review at work at 1, its gonna be so tough to concentrate when all I will be thinking is what swim am I gonna get? where will those chunky [censored]s be? etc etc, I am already too excited for fishing its only getting worse today πŸ˜‚
  3. On the menu tomorrow is a beef saag curry with rice and garlic Naan Baileys and horlicks to keep me warm its the bailicks πŸ˜‰(I'm really building this up and it's never been tried yet πŸ˜‚) Bacon rolls for breakfast and some chocolate hobnobs for a sweet treat All to be washed down with Jersey gold top tea πŸ˜‹ If I don't catch anything I'll live like a lord tomorrow πŸ˜‚
  4. I did well only came out with 4pints of red maggots and a gas bottle, I'd say that was a success πŸ‘πŸΎπŸΎπŸΎ
  5. I'm walking in a fishing shop soon only planning to buy some maggots πŸ™„ Wish me luck
  6. I do like Metallica, I got to see them live at the reading festival, they were blooming good, will have a listen to the other one when I am not in the doctors waiting room πŸ˜‚
  7. Guess who just opened up a tub of scent from hell in the kitchen after quickly knocking up a zig rig whilst my significant other is on the school run πŸ˜‚ Air freshener, door open, never a good idea πŸšΈπŸ˜…
  8. I'm toying with the idea of some maggots this week, 2 zigs and 2 on the bottom with some spombed red ones over the top, It's going to have to be a bit of a live by the sword job as I'm probably only gonna have an hour of daylight to get something sorted though from when I get there, not ideal but it is what it is, and I'll be fishing πŸ˜‚
  9. Woop woop I got permission from the good lady for an after work fish Thursday night, just got to get confirmation of holiday from work and I'll be there ziggin it up in the cold, can't wait, On the bait works podcast this month they were on about baileys coffee, I think I can go one better baileys and horlicks #itsthebailicks haven't tried it yet but what's not too love πŸ™„πŸ˜‚πŸ€”
  10. Well Big Bass, I'm glad you reminded me about this, I've failed on 2 counts😞 30lb+ fish, My biggest was 28lb 4oz so a new PB and one I had felt I earnt a bit and had a mega session to remember, so not to unhappy, I managed 13 fish from the main lake and had a 10 fish in 24 hour blinder on the runs water, lost a few this year, relaxed, enjoyed it, didn't **** about with bait and rigs too much, unless it was required, a run of hook pulls rung the changes a bit, but fished on my own terms, sort of kept a good fishing life balance, took the kids a bit, they enjoyed catching a rudd a chuck, The other thing I failed at was not losing any timber πŸ™„ in fact I reckon I've gained a couple of branches 😒 But I think that's probably been down to this strange year, lots of emotional eating and just trying to keep all the balls in the air, obviously losing my dad this year wasn't in the plans, and if I am honest I still don't really feel like I've had the time to completely come to terms with it, I sort of think one day when this year is done and we get back to normal I will process it, but I try and carry on pretending everything is fine, I think for me fishing has been a success this year, and been the glue that's held me together and I've probably had my best year to date, personally it's been a roller-coaster, so a yin yang thing but I'm definitely a lot stronger than I thought I was, which is nice and I pretty much did what I set out to do which was also nice 😊
  11. No worries enjoy, I've organised myself a bit more using some of there other bits too I got a couple of the little lead pouches they are pretty useful, I also use the brew kit bag for all my electronic bits like camera and lights etc, that all fits in nicely Aaaand I got one of the 6 glug pot bags took all the pots out and I use that for my tackle bits and it fits the little xpr tackle box in on top perfectly,
  12. I got the xpr rucksack for my tackle that's pretty nice also, I have got the xl Carryall too but that stays home because I was taking too much stuff in it πŸ˜‚
  13. I got the same one for the money its great, mines lasted a couple of years now with no major damage, still works exactly as it should
  14. I just think a little bit of white may add to the washed out look and make them look even more aged πŸ˜‚
  15. Could you dye freezer baits with that if you sort of washed it into them do you think?
  16. Do sticky not do a matching krill bait booster?
  17. I think it's all about the confidence tbh, I didn't do very well when I messed about making my own, I think it's better use something proven as you are always tweaking and testing, with regards to glugging I've become very sold on taking baits straight out the freezer pouring a cup or two of boiling water and a hydro liquid, give it a good mix and just let that wash them out for 24 hours before using, the result a washed out soft bait the carp will eat with gusto, and with loads of attraction washed in,
  18. I did it because I already had the cygnet bits, tbh if I was buying it all from scratch I would buy matrix or another brand as they are better mixing cygnet use a male thread hockey stick, where virtually everyone else use a female hockey stick thread, hope that makes sense πŸ’πŸ˜Š
  19. Thanks that fire burnt out again for now I am staying on it again 😁 I do already use all available sizes 12mm,15mm,18mm, I like a bit of variety on the sizes
  20. I just googled white goo was surprised by the results
  21. Isn't Robin red just paprika or something?
