6m baiting pole for about Β£40
elmoputney replied to elmoputney's topic in Carp Fishing Tackle and Equipment
I've just blown the budget on a Β£6.99 AD spoon (gone large) and a sabre net float Β£5.99 Total Spend Β£46.73 Should be quite useful though looking forward to trying it out π -
I don't feel that great today, we tried every ale they had in stock last night and for some reason a couple of apple sourz π

If you want to create a spread but don't want to use the throwing stick, get a tfg airbomb, they take a little getting used to but once you do it's a good tool to use that's just a bit different to a spomb

6m baiting pole for about Β£40

Thanks Well I went to the pub with a couple of mates last night, we ended up rather tipsy, and it would appear I bought a 6m landing handle when I got home π -
I'm just trying to work out if this is a good idea or a waste of time π I've found a 6m telescopic landing net handle, and you just buy a spoon and float but pros and cons, it will cost about 40 quid all in I can see it being useful within 6m obvs and you stick it out up the bank and cast over it etc but is it just going to be a waste of time and will I end up just deciding to buy an 18m one later on π You see at the moment I am doing quite a lot of close in fishing and I can see a lot of uses for it but I also see how it may not be long enough as an all rounder waste of time or good tool?

It is just before Scotland v England in the Euroβs Group game. Kane goes into the English changing room to find all his team mates looking a bit glum. "What's up?" he asks. "Well, we're having trouble getting motivated for this game. We know it's important but it's only Scotland. They're [censored]e and we can't be bothered". Kane looks at them and says "Well, I reckon I can beat these by myself, you lads go down the pub." So Kane goes out to play Scotland by himself and the rest of the English team go off for a few pints. After a few jars they wonder how the game is going, so they get the landlord to put the teletext on. A big cheer goes up as the screen reads "England 1 - Scotland 0 (Kane 10minutes)". He is beating Scotland all by himself! Anyway, a few more pints later and the game is forgotten until someone remembers "It must be full time now, let's see how he got on". They put the teletext on. "Result from the Stadium "England 1 (Kane 10 minutes) - Scotland 1"(Angus McShagnasty 89 minutes)". They can't believe it, he has single handedly got a draw against Scotland!! They rush back to the Stadium to congratulate him. They find him in the dressing room, still in his gear, sat with his head in his hands. He refuses to look at them. "I've let you down, I've let you down." "Don't be daft, you got a draw against Scotland , all by yourself. And they only scored at the very very end" "No, No, I have, I've let you down... I got sent off after 12 minutes"

I tend to base boilie size on nuisance species present, but I will happily use 12mm baits as freebies and fish bigger hookbaits, or smaller hookbaits and bigger freebies, My main adversaries at present are rudd so small pellets, particle, and crumb just get destroyed by them, I am mainly feeding 17mm pellets and whatever boilies I get out the freezer quite like using 1 size of freebie as it's less faff, but a mix of sizes isn't a bad thing, I tend to have a selection of 12/15/18mm in the freezer and generally will use any of them quite happily, If I think I might be fishing at range (6 wraps +) then i may need the 18mmers to hit the target, big pultin isn't for everyone ππ―

I first heard Nen when I went to Stanick lakes (with a silent Wπ€) on a carp.com social many years ago, I always called it Neen but now I am multilingual and can fit in with both cultures π -
Good to see you getting the urge to get out again., hope you catch some whackers

I've been having a slightly lean spell lately, I have changed baits about 10 times in my head including looking into all the required equipment to make my own, like a boilie roller set up, basemixes, ingredients and all sorts π Then the other day I went to have a look round and do a bit of hole filling, I had a bucket of pellets with me and ended up feeding quite a few big carp at about 5 yards out,and they were chomping, then I remembered its not the bait, that works in the right spot, my rigs do work usually it's always about the location, and putting it all in the right place at the right time π³

2021 carp porter fat boy
elmoputney replied to pablo7uk's topic in Carp Fishing Tackle and Equipment
I can mainly drive to most swims now, but when it was flooded I had to use my barrow, I really regret selling my old Mk2 carp porter in the olden days, I ended up buying a cheap one when I started again, I've customised it with a new wheel and carp porter handles but it's still not a carp porter, and it's still not that great, I have to travel as light as I can when using it otherwise it flexes like a body builder In a gym mirror, A good barrow is a good investment tbh, but taking less stuff is still a good idea π -
E liquid is pretty much glug with nicotine In it π
-
Depends what the warranty is like in comparison and stuff like that really, it looks similar and probably is but I noticed there feedback isn't outstanding and they sell some toot also
-
My lake opened back up today, after they spawned last week for a few days, I thought it was a bit soon, but I will be leaving it for another week or two at least I think, its given me some time to get the garden sorted, taking a leaf out the Highy book, π

Can't you just pop out for a Wigan kebab and a pee whet and say you got a free bait boat

I would assume the gate for the hopper isn't under enough tension to cut through the line tbh from all the vids I've watched of it most seem to do this tbh, I am getting really tempted to get one BTW lol

I had a break from fishing for a good few years, wrapping sticks were one of the inventions that happened while I was away, I am glad I bought them, I use them all the time now, makes life so simple tbh, I wouldn't be without them now π
