You can use a photo compressor app or send it via WhatsApp or email to yourself that usually shrinks them a bit

You probably need to reduce the file size if it's an original pic

If you don't want to use plastic you could use a tails up baits cornz hookbait on the rig. If you can find a local feed store you might be able to look at it before buying

Also if you are spombing within catapult range, I would always just use a pult, I've noticed carp on my water seem drawn to the sound of catapults they probably associate with freebies as people mainly use them for prebaiting with.

You can adjust the spread depending how big you want it, my starting point was to set it 3 rod lengths short but if you want a closer spread use 2 rod lengths etc. Takes a bit of getting used too but if you want to be different to everyone else use an airbomb. I haven't seen anyone use one ever other than me 🤣

You could maybe use a mono shock leader and see if that helps, or a wolf x spod they are a bit better than spombs😂 or if you fancy making a bigger spread the TFG Airbomb is a belting tool once you get the hang of it. I'm gonna get mine out again this year for some big spread baiting.

The thing that always seems to put me off buying them is postage I think,it always seems to make them way more expensive than a sack of Aller aqua. If only I could pick some up locally 😬

I stupidly didn't even realise it was April fools when I replied, but the amount of lakes these days with luxury accommodation and hit tubs and fish with super growth tanks it didn't seem that far fetched.

I wouldn't not have a decent mat though as much as its massive, on the odd occasion I do catch something I want to know it's well protected.

I got the 25lb and I didn't get on with it either. It felt wirey, I also found 25lb mouth trap to be similar, 15lb is much nicer to use tbh

I'm starting to like my non essential car bag idea tbh, i could leave my net, unhooking mat, scales, camera,rods & reels pretty much everything I don't need to not catch fish, might as well just park up and sleep in my bivvy, game changer 😂

There wasn't that much I don't use, other than some bits in my tackle box, and scales, camera etc if I am blanking 😂 I have 5 sections in my rucksack 1) rig box, scales, unhooking bits like forceps, side cutters and antiseptic etc. 2) marker float, pva mesh x2, glove, mini weed rake, spomb, lead pouch. 3) buzz bars, bite alarms and receiver, banksticks and matrix piledriver, and one spare alarm just incase. 4) electronics in a case , camera, light, head torches x3, binoculars, power bank, camera light and intervalometer,leads, spare batteries etc. 5) tackle organiser korda tackle box, 2 other sections one with a korda pouch for my tools (files, baiting needles, floss, lighters, the other one with a few spools of leaders and hooklinks that don't go in my tackle box. And a rig tray Maybe I could lose a headtorch and some items of tackle but it seems to work because I know where stuff is lol. I mainly fish with the car so I could quite easily leave some stuff in a car bag which could be my main barrow bag as I always take it just incase I need it, I can feel a reshuffle coming on. 😱😂

Lucky boy, love good days like that, one of my neighbours recently moved and gave my daughter a pair of old 11ft daiwa sensor Z carp rods, they will be perfect to get her started. I've bought her a new reel for her birthday, hopefully she can get out and catch a few with me this year on them.

I really don't use D rigs often these days. The spinner is my main go to pop up rig. But for the odd time I do thinner ones work OK, I prefer them anyway as they are a bit more supple.

I quickly went through my rucksack this evening, i removed a dozen leads and that was about it,still have about 10 spares but it still feels quite heavy, but everything in there all seems to serve a purpose. My tackle box didn't seem that heavy, just a few things that weigh a bit combined. Will try and reduce all my other stuff next.
