2 x PB products hit n run lead clips and tail rubbers (half price deal) Korda balancing weights 10" matrix black out adjustable buzz bar, spotted a deal and thought I am fed up slumming it with a fixed rear buzz bar. So with a tenner off I thought today is the day. Not purchases but today I have respooled my reels with 15lb gt80+ 0.40mm tow rope, and added my s'wet bands to the spools so my line can stay in tip top condition between sessions.

That's kind of why I only use one rig these days, every now and again it might need a tweek, I'm currently looking at a beefed up version for snag fishing, but that's pretty much a change of boom material. And so far from the coated ones I have the bank tackle or PB jelly wire seems the strongest 😱 korda ones broke way too easily on a puller test. I will give them a whirl next time and see how they cope,

Dave lane is now using Gardner CVR Like above. That was his Gardner phase version of the rig. I nearly always use a pop up regardless of what I am fishing over tbh, sometimes a wafter if its really firm and clean, but I never worry too much, I think they often either avoid the pop up or make a beeline straight for it.

Maybe tonight's the night good luck.

Yeah I could see that flipping well and being tricky to deal with.

In my head you need a really curved hook this is a BCR Rigga and they come much more curved than that.
-
Yeah I know but it just looks like the hook pattern wouldn't sit right, I'm sure you wouldn't use it if it didn't but in your hand it looks odd lol. I could see something like a longshank nailor/trig hammer or mugga, would probably work well as it's curved and bent the right way but your pic makes it look like it will lean backwards. As for the spinner and hook ups the D rig kicker makes a world of difference to the hook to land ratio, it's not the same as a spinner, the separation makes for a much better hookhold in my opinion.

Well done on catching this week, can't help but think that rig looks like it is going to sit weirdly with the point pointing up in the air, might just be the photo but everytime I look at it I can't see how it is going to sit nicely with a bait on.

That first comment is how it starts 😂 Then you start to notice other things that would be useful 👍would be good to see some cheap boat mods that work though so good luck with it. -

Brilliant tbh, within a few clicks it can be locked up and then each click back allows it to move a little easier. -

I haven't used them myself, but if you want a similarly priced bulletproof big pit that's smooth with an excellent drag, perfect line lay. I can recommend the Okuma 8k, honestly I've used them for 3 years or so now and they are still as good as when I bought them. They also come with a 5yr warranty. https://thetackletavern.co.uk/product/okuma-8k-carp-big-pit-reel/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21835214607&gbraid=0AAAAACLTViSbZ0Nj-jR2v3SlfHNiHvHdi&gclid=CjwKCAjwz_bABhAGEiwAm-P8YWOae89oupbUzW_XCgFo9cxFtIziyrkN-i4VUKqtIMysL7xapbXrChoCwS4QAvD_BwE -

I've owned 2 boats, one was cheap and awful, the other was an actor plus, which did the job better. Sadly it's hard to get decent and budget friendly boat, actors are OK, I used one in France but you really need a compass model so it drives straight. And the batteries seem to die very easily. These can be replaced but costly. While I might be at a disadvantage not owning a boat currently, I can't justify the expense of one that would do what I wanted. -

I caught my first/ last fish just before lockdown around the 20th March first session back and caught my first after lockdown 18th May I had a 10 fish hit and the next morning whilst sitting in my bivvy, I got a call from my boss telling me I might be on a short list to be made redundant. That was a week after my dad's funeral. So it sticks in my mind a bit. I'm all for a shut down post spawning but 3 months feels excessive to me.

Well done Yonny some cracking bangers there 😎. X spods are better than spombs, Also me TFG Airbombs are better than spombs 😂

I personally think the closed season is an outdated concept and shouldn't be reinstated. What I would like to see is fishery owners being more responsible and closing once they spawn and remain closed for a month or so to give the fish some recovery time. I think media is better in many ways, you can learn what you want, find out about products you might want and ignore the rest.

Just get. Bit of tape cover over the Sea and write carpdra, nobody would notice mate 👍 My temu one hasn't arrived yet

Good luck mate, hope you catch a few.

Always there camping, never catches anything either, most of the water out there has pads just under the surface and is pretty unfishable. Back in the rat/wasp den now, wasps have stopped being so mental and settled into building the nest, even one of the rats went out early today because of the noisy neighbours (Not me BTW)
