  1. It does look like good stuff, I can't seem to find many examples of possible rigs using it online though, I looked at the extreme but I was wondering if it is bendable so you could make a nice easy hinge rig? But with a curved stiff part up to the hook much like the one I made above, or whether you need to use an inturned hook to create the curve, if you have any examples of rigs I would like to see them πŸ‘
  2. I just quickly knocked this up it's the mark pitchers style one, a bit like a multi rig set up with a doubled over length of mouth trap, it's certainly stiff😁 will just use a semi stiff coated braid for the boom section Hydrolink is one of the few braids I haven't tried yet, I do keep meaning too just haven't 😳
  3. After Fridays session where I felt I was Constantiy tieing up bags and worrying whether or not they are presented well, which to be fair I think they mainly were, I've decided to look at an alternate method for for the less obvious spots, I thought about chods, Ronnie's, roddie and all sorts then thought I don't want to use helicopter set ups if I don't have too and I've not found the Ronnie a rig I've got confidence in, Ive grown quite fond of the inline tadpole set up the lead ALWAYS comes off the tadpole and the leader if required and I'm convinced it's as safe as it can be , I'm not really a fan of pop ups In bags they always seem to just look blatent or too low to be effective in all situations so I got to thinking, and back to hinge stuff rigs is the answer, I think that will sit on top of most weedy areas I've faced so far and will be fine with a nugget attached to slow it down, its also one I have faith in Does anyone think an inline set up isn't the one for the HSR? I just think it would be nice to know there is a nice pop up waiting for a big girl to slip up on, this will also suit my scattergun baiting approach especially as I have more pop ups than mainline in my garage 😁 I will still use bags on at least one rod but using them on all 3 seems to leave me constantly tieing them up which doesn't leave enough time to just relax 😒
  4. I found an old one I used last year trek sensitive, deet free but I had the front off and I didn't get bitten Friday, will use it again I think
  5. Ngt one mine had mine 2 years still going strong its only 4 rod though but I only have one spod/marker rod, I also use the single ngt sleeves with it
  6. It might be one of the baitmakers diaries l series I think, It made me want to use heavier leads too 😁
  7. It was a bait works video with Mark Bryant I think you mean I found it quite interesting, will try and find it, Stop overthinking, keep it simple best thing I did tbh I spent all last year tying myself in knots, with regards to hooks rigs, find a simple rig that works for the situation and use that, I haven't used a krank hook tbh I didn't like the angled point, but if you are set on using them, find the right rig for the hook, each hook will be best suited to some rigs and not others,
  8. Yeah I know one of the risks, the thing that annoyed me the most was how ill prepared I was with a back up plan, still lesson learnt don't put all your eggs in one basket, and I don't think now is probably the right time to pre bait still too many other anglers fishing, another thing I learnt don't listen to what other people tell you when on the bank, the way one guy was talking last week was that swim never got fished and I pretty much had exclusive use of it, there have been at least 2 others since I was in there last week 😁 I did catch a slimey fat little tench though and lost one I was gutted πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‚πŸ˜ When I said a lot of bait I meant a lot of individual items for them to get through especially with the hundreds of micropellets too, 😁 I didn't tell him, as I didn't want to be one of those guys that thinks because they pre bait it they can claim it, I've seen a lot of people sticking to the same swims so far, and I don't want to tell people where they should and shouldn't go, we all pay the same fish where you like as far as I am concerned, I am also trying not to listen to that kind of thing I also don't want to know about what others are doing, because I don't want to feel like I can't fish a swim because nobby has been pre-baiting, if you are going to do it keep it to yourself it's the only fair way
  9. I'm not going to say what happened to my prebaited spot, but someone is fishing over it 😒he didn't know so its just one of those things and I didn't tell him I've started to like the ridge monkey choppa today, you can chop 30 18mm baits at once, I've been making a small bucket for each spot so I know I've just airbombed 180 chops over my 2 rod area + the 240 earlier just feels a bit more scientific 😁 Although when I added it up makes it seem like a lot of bait that could be out there I couldn't find a way to count all the micro pellets easily 😳
  10. I've managed to switch my Sunday for Friday this week I do have to be home by 10am Saturday morning though but I thought it looked too good, with the full moon and the pressure, I've been putting a lot of free food into an area and just feel its rude not to be trying, I am going to top up the spots today on the way home and hope they will primed to drop In on tomorrow,
  11. Looks like it's had a bit of work done on it tbh so that's probably a good thing it's been serviced and has a long mot and stuff , probably worth going to have a look just remember if something doesn't seem right it's not the one,
  12. I dont know loads but check anything electric as it's a Renault, check the glow plugs don't take ages to fire (there should a a glow plug light on the dashboard that comes on when you turn it on before starting, check it runs OK doesn't smoke too much, is it clean or battered? A good diesel can go on, listen for any knocks when you drive it, check the tyres, I usually think if a car looks well looked after then that's usually a better sign, if you have a link I might be able to tell you a little more?
  13. You get it free with a kfc and a wetwipe 😁 That does make a lot of sense though what they say, it's probably quite easy to overglug and leave your baits clogged and unable to leak all the attractors thats already in them, and also not to mention how much easier and cleaner it is to distribute unsullied boilies, πŸ€”
  14. Sticky with that then if its working, I had some sticky squid Ink liquid that was good stuff much like the fish hydro I am using now tbh, As much as I don't want to admit it, those sticky pineapple dumbell wafters haven't half caught me a lot of fish lately πŸ˜‰ I've been adding hydro and stinger oil to my PVA bag mix, my theory being that I want my bag to be the most attractive item in the baited area, I don't boost the rest of the freebies
  15. I couldn't find the nut hydro liquid on baf when I looked, dna baits do a nuttas hydro syrup though and quite a few others that might be worth a look
  16. Get some vegetable glycerin from a vape type shop in proper sized amonts don't bother with those little bottles, I've watched a lot of those vids definately worth having a play, When you make vape liquids though you have to steep them for a little while so may be best with goo too to leave in a dark cupboard for a Month Or you could go to British aqua feed and get some hydro liquid I believe they do a nut based one now
  17. That's got to be worth it I think πŸ‘
  18. They don't call him Saint Nick for nothing you know πŸ‘
  19. Sounds like boating is the thing then, I would like to have a go at a lake where boating is the way, I think that would be the way to suss it out, get on the open waves and look for clear spots, if you haven't watch some of the dave Lane diaries on you tube that may help give you some ideas, are you allowed to row your rigs out and bait up with them and stuff ? Sounds exciting tbh good luck
  20. Ive learnt a lot on here from various people along the way, these guys have all really helped me also ginger1991 also really changed my tbinking with regard to using pva now other than at night I am generally rechucking them every couple of hours and a lot of my bites have been within minutes of doing this, generally this works well for me as I know if my rig is tangled its only a couple of hours of down time not a whole session, also leaning to make sure everything is spot on for bite time, I will bait up at night if I need to and recast at first light to make sure I have fresh traps out there, I work harder these days and try and make things happen, rather than sitting and hoping it will happen, All I will say is ask questions on here it's been brilliant for me I've learnt lots and I can't thank everyone enough for that πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
  21. Honestly both ha ha will have to get my nails done for the next session 😁 Seriously though, the main difference is confidence this year, I'm going Into sessions not having to worry about the small stuff like rigs, bait, method, etc and all that has left me free to relax a bit more and just try and create the ideal situation to get a bite, I spent all last year thinking I needed to be technical and clever this year I am more like a caveman with a club, keeping it simple 😁
  22. Just had a quick look at a pic of both I would say the stinga is more a curve shank pattern as it has a more inturned eye amd the point is more angled in, and the other one looks like a continental style hook slight inturned eye straight shank and fairly straight point, Both will work but it depends on what you want to achieve from your rig
  23. Did you see any mick George rats, they can be sizeable 😳 I always found most people friendly that I met there, St Ives is quite a nice old town too, I'm not that far away of you ever need a hand or anything
  24. Nice, I wouldn't mind having a go on the lagoon one day it's a beautiful lake isn't it, I bought a mozzie front for there in the end, they were crucifying me, 😁
  25. They are savage down there aren't they? Which lake did you fish? Reading tj the reviews and from what Highy said it seems 2 hours is tops before needing to reapply, I've been savaged though sitting here now with a strong desire to scratch my ankle aaaagh
