A trailer with a running lead could still leave a fish attached to a long trailer, yes it might be minus the lead but the rig is directly tied to the mainline via a swivel, with the hit n run lead clip if you got the same trailer, the rig would come loose as the swivel is free of the mainline,and therefore you will only ever leave the rig attached once the line parts as the fish can move up the mainline and be free of the trailer. It is also a running rig but neater and IMO safer.

With a running rig you are still going to leave a trailer attached in the event of a crack off. That's why I am now using the pb ones same benefit of a running rig, but as the fish swims off the rig with swivel will travel up the trailing line and free itself leaving only the rig in its mouth,

PB products hit n run lead clips have become an essential part of my set up lately. From a safety POV, they are smashing, in the event of a crack off or cut off type incident the fish will only ever be left with the rig in its mouth and not trailing loads of line, and because it's essentially free running they can't use the weight of the lead to help eject the hook. I've had a lot of screaming takes since switching to them.

Don't admit that, when I changed from a slip D back to a spinner rig after a hook pull I got loads of beef. 😬

Wychwood do a similar mat that's decent, they do a walled one and inside it has a removable oval mat, I actually just have the oval mat and that's decent, it has a slightly concaved middle recessed bit and also a mesh that can go over the fish if it flaps to hold it down. That seems a much better pattern for the 360 I think. One product I found to be a bit of a gamechanger, was the korda balancing weights that attach to the swivel, I did try with a tungsten pop up weight but found unless you slid it right up the loop (kind of making the loop redundant) then the pop up came off the deck and moved too freely for my liking.

Water temps will be good, if no one else is doing it then invite them all to the party if nothing else you will have a clear spot for next session.

It's the vogue rig because it works, I've done countless posts on my version and have 100% confidence in it. Lots of people catch plenty using them. If it rains fish at the inlet. And if the weed is that bad you could try and rake a spot. But probably there will be clear spots, they will be showing themselves just keep your eyes open. You could also try fishing solid bags into the weed. Good luck.

I think I might have thought of something similar in the past. I feel like the cherry on the cake seems a bit obvious amongst a load of 2mm pellets. A quick flick of the tail and that's all that sits there still.

I often think that and never get round to it lol. I often think with bags and stuff if they havent gone in a hour or so they aren't going to go and the Rudd would have destroyed them, so would probably rechuck every couple of hours.

I use Airbombs or x spods as long as you hit the clip right they are both pretty stealthy compared to a spomb. I do use a pult or throwing stick also though if I just want to bait some boilies. Everything has advantages and disadvantages though. I mean you can just fish singles but most of the time "you gotta get the bait out somehow"

I am a lot more fussy these days,with my casting close enough isnt good enough, I will take more casts to get it spot on if I need too, I'll recast onto fizzers and will recast at night if something is bothering me,I've learnt I can't relax unless it's perfect, take the other week as an example, my first take went through all my lines, just into darkness, I had to redo them all, but 3 rods went out back onto the spots perfectly in darkness and I got a take on the distance rod first light, that had taken a couple of casts but hit the clip and got the drop I needed, I know I wouldn't have slept if it wasn't bang on. After the first light bite I got 2 rods on the long spot, spombed it up and 2 hours later got a take on the extra rod I had put out there. I think a lot of the reason I don't mind spombing is because of my spod mix, washed out boilies flaked maize and pellets, some stodgy, some fresh into the mix, a good helping of lake water, smart liquid and squid brand fish sauce makes a hell of a cloud and not loads of actual big food. I have run out of smart liquid now so might sub it out cos it's stupid expensive but it has worked pretty well. and the boilies are washed out but actractively primed for them to eat,
