  1. He must be too busy to get on here . It happens .
  2. Maybe its just where i fish but if i catch 5 Carp in 100 hours i'm well happy :)
  3. Maybe its caused by that big black cloud that follows me about Must be the parallel universe thing . I cant understand it its been really uncomfortable here ?
  4. No wind mate ? Its been like Chicago this side of the river mate for about a week now . Blowing straight into my bivvy since yesterday too .... Bludy freezin' it was . Having said that its died down now . Dunno about the shallow water muft , theres not really anywhere fir em to go is there ? Maybe it puts em off the feed ?
  5. Air pressure is/has been 1016-1020 here for a while which is still quite high but i think the cold north westerly we have had on & off is more likely the problem here . Weather forecast predicts a new south westerly in the morning which is more promising . And warmer too
  6. I reckon Carpmachine will have an explanation for you when he sees this . Rightly or wrongly he has touched on the subject a couple of times recently .....
  7. Excellent mate , long may it continue . I'm never likely to be in a similar position myself but i feel there are far too many people in this game that take it far too seriously , put too much pressure on themselves and end up either almost giving up on it altogether ( the particular water that is ) or come on this forum moaning and expecting everyone else to catch the fish for them. Personally i like a bit of a challenge ( on the lake i fish there are 2 or 3 x 30's , any one of em'll do ) but if i sit there and blank for weeks on end it wouldnt bother me in the least because i love the solitude , peace & quiet , and dont take it too seriously . Once again well done mate i am jealous
  8. Mr Emm , after consistently catching fish like these how do you keep motivated ? Seriously ?
  9. Hahahahaha i've just googled it Far too young thin and attractive fir me i'm afraid
  10. Monster's a drink innit ? Am i a bit slow today ?
  11. I like the sound of the monster energy girl . Never had one with energy before :)
  12. Yeh mate the Bay . Most i've ever paid was £5.99 and i think that was for a stiff mono but the braids are as above . I just had a butchers and there are bundles of different braids and mono ranging between £2 and £4 ....
  13. Superb post Philip . Lets hope nobody else starts to use it and it'll stay cheap . I noticed in the tackle shop the other day that most terminal tackle is ROUGHLY the same price bracket though , of course , some are a bit dearer than others But its amazing how cheap the suffix hooklink materials are compared to just about every other brand . They cover just about every need , and i feel people are missing out by not at least trying it .
  14. Sounds well worth the money Guy , thanks for that mate , terrific review
  15. Phil did that happen before after or while they were mugging you ?
  16. What exactly is it about Guy ?
  17. Im told its very good . Fareham is one of the few "pro"'s i have time for .
  18. Whilst i was in the tackle shop today i noticed that Carp-r-us do a Crank hook ?????? Designed by Frank Warwick by all accounts .... Didnt get a chance to compare patterns to the Korda hooks but i wonder ..... :)
  19. I wondered why they've only produced em in barbed , albeit micro ?
  20. Thats good to hear mate
  21. Hi Dal , its only something i would consider trying if i decided to fish a different lake and i thought it was worth the risk . At the moment i dont need a leader of any description and i tend to catch ok every time i go without exactly emptying the lake . There is another lake on the complex that i MAY move onto one day . It has a bigger average stamp of fish (up to 40's) but , as i've posted before , 10ft deep and 9 ft of it weed so its something i'll need to get my head around before i do. In the meantime there are a couple , maybe 3 x 30's in my current lake , at least one of which i want before i go anywhere
  22. I've never used a leader , never been in a position where i felt i needed one tbh BUT i've often wondered what material i would use and more importantly how i would attach it and this post explains it all very nicely so many thanks Hawk While we're on the subject of leaders i'm currently a fluorocarbon mainline user and although its all fine at the moment it IS a nightmare when its new as anyone who has respooled their reels with it will know . One of the reasons i've never used a leader is that it is another knot/weak point on the line and i never wanted to risk a fish towing it around in the event of a snap off . Are there any merits in the use of a short fluoro leader attached to mono mainline purely for camouflage purposes and sinking-near-to-the-business end properties ? If so , how short could you go with the leader in order to bring the above reasons into play yet at the same time NEVER put a Carp at risk ANY risk ?
  23. I rest my case :)
