I've pretty much just enjoyed all my sessions this year. They've all been pretty memorable even the blank where I snapped my rod and caught a pike was good but first time on a new lake and I got to catch a new 31lber which I got to name snowball has to be right up there.
But this one also, I worked so hard whilst being ill including a move to get on the fish it's a special one to me

And some I caught with the kids in a mega summer session

And how could I miss out my daughters first 20lber

Been a great year, hopefully more to come.

My floater fishing and stalking rod for years was a 9ft Browning spinning rod, and I found it brilliant. Seems weird as it had no test curve rating, I think it was 30-50grams casting weight,  sadly it was stolen.
Most of my fishing is on big waters, where long casts may be required and I know that I can cast a lot further with a 12ft than a 10ft rod. In fact I don't think that I have fished a water less than 45acres since 2010, other than occasional day trips to Bromeswell, and there I prefer to use my specialist rods as I'm not going to fish for carp just reaching double figures with 2.75 or 3.25lb rods.
Even feeder fishing with a 10ft specialist rod, I am casting shorter than the exact same make in 12ft, although to be fair on the river that's not a problem.

Fine for smaller waters but on big lakes where you need big casts...

Think this is the common opinion, that you see no benefit, and probably dont, but it all depends on how deep you look in to where it goes.
I personally know of at least 50k worth of rod licence monies that went back in to improving the River Nene, because I spent it! Also another 20k has gone to the local angling club in the last few years for various projects like otter fencing & platform access over the venues. The club has to be proactive in getting hold of it as the grants come up twice a year.
Calverton fish farm is partly paid using rod licence money, so all those fish restocked after pollution or to supplement species like barbel population or to restock club waters.
The EA are being cut to death by central government, most of the teams rely on the big budgets of FCRM to supplement them. It's about time the government twigged on to the fact they'd be raking it in if they employed 100s of EA bailiffs and went and caught all the dodgers out and got the fine income. Sadly the EA dont get the fine money, it goes straight to treasury to be spent on a dinner party or something.

If I had to, I'd say pink. I got my garlic spice made up in pink, and I also have my food bait in natural colour and pink.

Strangely the one colour I've rarely done well on is yellow!

I've lost fish on a bad knot I've tied, or more correctly hadn't checked the rig after landing a 20lb fish on it and just recast the same rig.
That's MY fault, I knew who to blame.
I choose my own hooks, I use the right strength, pattern for the waters I fish. I know how strong they are, whether they open out, break or flex.
Unless you are physically disabled tie your own rigs, that way you know what hook, the hook knot or swivel knot is good and even the length is right.

Depends which side of the border you come from, and I can never remember who says what...
I think Norfolk is Waverknee, whereas us Suffolk people who talk properly say Waveknee

A new spool of Gardner Pro light in 15lb, and some tip 'tectors
This year I have been plagued by pike fragging and biting my line, chasing Spombs, sitting in the margins or chasing small perch and tench in the clear areas.
Tonights job is take the old line off all 3 reels and replace it with new.

Just found 3 more Shimano Beastmaster 7000 XTA's on the ebay.
Decided to get them so I can have the same reels on my 12ft 2.75lb TC Enduro's as I have on my 3.25lb The Ones.
It also means that I can get one set properly serviced.

The past 4 years I actually haven't been checked, although much of my fishing has been on the syndicate. When I was fishing Alton Water up to 2020, the local bailiff knew me and my dog so would always know that I had one. He'd get to the swim and the licence was in hand.
For years I was getting checked in Essex and Suffolk, often a couple of times a year.
Sad that the licence has gone paperless, I did like the David Miller art.
Being disabled I get the concessionary rate for 3 rods.
As @framey says, don't go anywhere other than gov.uk to buy your licence.

I agree. I did get the option to receive a paper license this year and went for it..... same artwork as last year 👎. Obviously clearing stocks.
I've saved every paper licenses since the Miller art started. At some point I plan to get them all in a frame, will make a nice edition to my carp room.

Not sure if I used @yonnyphoto class to its max, but it was piddling down, I had the camera in the bivvy and just went for it. Turned out pretty well I think,
Thanks to @Higham1987for the night spodding advice. I redid the rods this morning with a fresh pop up on a classic Elmo spinner rig, fired about 20 more baits with a pult and 10 minutes later this was the result.
Naturally I used mollasses in the spod mix and this 29lb 8oz common was the result I had worked so hard for.
    Confidence is king.
