  1. I think I paid £30 each for the originals
  2. I also had a set of Microns M’s my 1st alarms great sound, my mate had them to and if we doubled up in the swim and one went off I used to say please be mine as we both crashed out of the bivves. I thought I was the bees knees when I finally got the sounder box and wires to go with them.... tripped over them wires to. 🙄 Only time they let me down was the once in freezing fog when the rollers froze up ... but that was down to the weather conditions really.

    Forecast

The police don’t mess about down my way. A friend of a friend had a £1000 fine for shopping outside our area went across the road to M&S and bang. 😳

    Forecast

There’s a big warm front from the south forecast for this Tuesday what I would give to be down linear way all set up just as the big warm wind turns to face me ... but we got travel restrictions 😞
  5. When I went over to marker sticks I put on weight from not having to walk out the rods all the time...honest 😉 I’ve used a reel for the spod and marker work for donkey years with the plastic clip and luckily had no issues but recently been using a reel with a round spring metal clip which I prefer. I defo wouldn’t go back to the plastic clip
  6. I’m lucky I always fish with a good mate and driving back from a trip we analyse our trips comparing tactics, would we have done anything different and why we fished the way we did and so on.
  7. If I don’t get out often I get a bit rusty make silly mistakes things just take a bit longer to set up on a 48hr trip. But I get there in the end.....could be I’m getting on a bit tho 🤔
  8. Got myself a pair of korum 10ft 2.25lb rods had a cat at 22lb no problem but there was no weed or snags, tho the cork was creaking a bit lol. This rod had got a fast action, tippy more so than my 3lb test curves I use. I think the 2.25 could handle a big carp with not much weed about.
  9. Your going to arms like Popeye 💪
  10. Thank god for that ... I’m in work doing long hours don’t even know what day it is, think Iv had one 48 hour trip since the virus hit. Good luck Elmo 🤞
  11. Iv had the same problem now and then with the putty .... could be crayfish ?? I don’t use a spilt shot I find they ping off when passing the hook length through the pva even when I make a little split don’t happen all the time but annoying. I use these now they grip much better in a BB
  12. All the hard work paying off 👍
  13. Iv used the cool box method, soak for over 24 hrs empty most of the water out then kettles of hot water cover with a old mat to keep the heat in. Id leave it for at least 48hrs. Keep a little water back for mixing with my ground bait for bream fishing
  14. I was on a lake in France bite time was 6pm-6 am then I would bring the rods in and bait up then a cup of proper coffee and set off with a light spinning rod. I was returning a jack when Madam the owner of the complex came running out of the mist waving her arms cursing in French and could have been a bit of Italian mixed in shouting Nonnnnnnnnn !!! ‘Non fishing English style! I replied in perfect broken French sign language that I wasn’t English but Welsh pointing at the Welsh flag high above my bivvy The good Madam disappeared back into the mist shaking her head and still cursing. We later agreed a bottle of her homemade wine for a jack... The wine was delicious.
  15. I tried spider wire and could not get on with its waxy finish and stiffness went straight in the bin. 🙄
  16. I can vaguely remember an article in one of the monthly carp mags going back a bit and it showed a pic of a good size carp on a mat that brought up a couple of silver fish... I kid you not.
  17. Got the above off the bay looking forward to reading it and this from Eric which Iv read but from way back and enjoyed
  18. That sounds like a feast for a king Elmo ... good luck 👍
  19. I use to trim down the wires so they wouldn’t bend as much.
  20. Grip leads sea anglers use them £1 ish each wrap elastic bands around the wires or use tape.
  21. I use braid without a shock leader. But when I used to sea fish a lot it was 4 turns on the spool ,length of rod and down to the joint anymore and the leader knot would be covered and that causes problems. Large clip with a bit of silicon sleeve over the knot to protect it when I use it for a marker rod and for a quick change If I needed to go to a smaller or bigger spomb
