I been on my syndicate since June 16th haven’t put a bait in the water yet 🙄

I clicked my neck hitting the snooze button was off a week 🙄 take it easy Elmo… Looks like it down to me to ask the question…what did you need the hairbrush for 🤔

I think why fishing is such a popular sport is that a complete novice can go onto a water for the first time with the most basic of cheap tackle and bait and catch a large fish with a pub chunk…I feel that’s luck…but to catch fish regular comes with experience and willingness of learning from your mistakes.

The weather has cooled down a bit could switch them on for you both tell your lad to leave some fish for you 👍

We arrived at linear as the gates opened 8am on Tuesday morning and it was Scorching the forecast was for it to be in the high 20’s roll on winter lol.. we had booked the disabled swim and I had the nx swim as my mates helper. It’s the shallow part of the lake and there was a lot of fish in front of us sunbathing a awesome display 😳we were like 2 kids let loose in a sweet shop… but they were not interested one bit 🙄we tried every floating hook bait we had with no luck with 6 rods using zigs at all levels they didn’t even spook off, then we tried just using one rod still not a sniff 😞…god we were baked 🥵 we had no cover did I tell you it was hot ? then my mate says he’s found 30 ish dog biscuits at the bottom of his bag they had seen better days I thought, quick as a flash he sets up a ESP Controller with a light rod casts out 2 of the better mixers on the hair with a pouch of green ish mixers around the float and it only goes under and he’s in 😳A carp of 28lb happy days ! …. Alas that was the only fish we had over the 48 hrs of gruelling hot not a breath of wind days the car temperature had it at 31° …. See I said it got hot …

Well I worked this weekend outside prepping a house for painting…god it was hot 🥵 now I got the time off for a 48hr trip at linear on B1 starting early this Tuesday, all booked up which is just as well with the kids off from schools

Best leave them both at home mate you want them both to enjoy the trip always another time. 👍

Best of luck ….maybe you could try spreading the mustard over a hook bait …I said that as a joke but back in the day I used to dip my hook bait in Marmite for Barbel…you never know tho 🤔

Well since the glorious 16th iv had the marker rod out over the dock most early evenings after work found some clean spots but the weed is growing like Japanese knot weed on steroids. Here’s some pics from both ends

I fished a lake that had a big population of fair size Rudd they would devoured any soft baits we called them Ruddy Piranhas we found if we air dried our boilies so they were hard as marbles it gave the carp a chance.

Now if you could just tip half a load of gravel down the bottom end ...just between you and me 🤐

When I go fishing on a 48 hr trip I use a single wheel barrow great movability but iv got to barrow my mates gear as well sometimes takes 3 trips 🥵 I borrowed this 3 wheeler from the guy in the nx swim as I had a puncture it was a joy to use but the ground was pretty flat...

As luck would have it iv been painting a property over looking my syndicate water and the view you get from above the water is a eye opener 5 floors up. Iv seen Grebes and Cormorants diving in the clear water,Ducks and the best of all Carp... looks like they be spawning soon tho. It’s all indoor decorating but iv spent more time on the balcony looking than inside painting.....

Sticks for me and use them after every cast... if bites are hard to come by it can be worth adding a wrap or two or taking away just remember the original number of wraps you started with... I’m getting old so all info go’s in the phone. If the wind gets up I use a heavier weight and punch it out.
