  1. Mines ok too, the guy who runs it always says hello as you walk in, even if he is taking to someone else, they have a carp section as well as all the match guys stuff , there is not a massive amount but most of the time I can find what I'm looking for ... And quite often I end up with something I didn't know I wanted .... I'm still looking for that perfect lead ......
  2. Went into Aldi today and they have deep fat fryers for£17.99 looks good for you boilie guy's
  3. I have a nice never used pair of the korda ones . save your cash and tie a knot.......
  4. Try monster particle, not sure if they do peanuts , but the customer service is great, there was a problem with my last order, I had ordered some tares and it turned out they were out of stock, so they called me and asked if I wanted my money back or something else, they gave me a extra kg of hemp with no charge as a thank you ..
  5. No spoilers please I've not watched it yet ......
  6. I've still got one of those floats with the light in , I can remember watching as they went round and round the lake at night lol ...
  7. Sounds like you are as confused as me as what to do next year mate, the lake I have been fishing is now under new management and have changed some of the rules the fee is also going up next year, the bailiff has chucked it in after doing the last 15 years, to be honest I don't think that the quality of the fish and the overall environment is going to be worth the extra cost, the only thing that it has going for it are the toilets and showers, I'm looking at joining a club that gives me access to the local canal and also at some of the day ticket water's around this way.....
  8. Don't see the problem myself, Martin lost a fish in the weed ( who hasn't ? ) He's fishing effectively and in my mind safely one rod in the right spot where the fish are also.... He's not right up against the weed he's fishing the margin slope , by the sound of things those fish know if their being fished for so his approach is correct......
  9. Been thinking about having a go at stawick myself , please keep us updated to how you get on .......
  10. That's one of the main reason why I went for a brolly system so I can get it dry in the shed, l have a Cyprinus magnatex I think it's out of production now, not sure what it was a copy of, but I can't fault it , I think I paid around £180 for the whole thing, ground sheet infill panel and overwrap , the overwrap has never been out the bag, but the infill panel is handy for the night's that it's chucking it down, also there is a lot more room with the front on ....
  11. Can't see why it wouldn't be able to boil up a pan .. the only thing with induction hobs is they only work with a steel pan...
  12. If I have it right, when the sun and the moon are both on the same side of the earth the gravitational pull from both is at its strongest and then you get a spring tide, which is the highest tide, when they are opposite each other you get a neap tides the lowest ( I think it's correct) ...... there are a lot of marine creatures that the moon affects at breading and feeding time, so it could be having a effect on something else in the lake rather than the fish themselves, something could be hatching or breading that the carp are eating.......
  13. That's a interesting theory, I grew up just down the river from London , and my understanding is that fishing either side of high tide was the slack water, when the tides were not running hard made it easier to fish, the same was said for low tide , I'm sure that the gravitational force of the sun and moon do have some effect on the lakes but how it could be measured I would have no idea ....
  14. Should of had a life jacket on in the boat matey ...
  15. Thanks again guys, I've watched the video now and I have been tying up my rigs almost the same until changing the hook pattern and also the hook link material, at the weekend I went back to using a stiffer hook link with a curved shank hook and was a lot happier with the results,if it ain't broke then don't fix it springs to mind lol.....
  16. Had a go with one of these at the weekend, I only had three 8mm pellets on the hair and used a thin mono as the hair, not sure where the fish was hooked as it spat out the hook in the net , will have a go again with some different baits next time out....
  17. Thanks for the replys , I hadn't thought about the fish not taking in the bait properly. It was just frustrating to keep loosing them , will check out some of the hooks you suggest and tie up some more rigs with the bits I have been using and see how I feel about them ... thanks 👍
  18. Hey everyone, I have been using the standard multi rig for a while now, this year I have changed both the hook link material and the hook themselves this weekend I have had three hook pulls , so at the moment I'm using the esp tungsten loaded semi stiff hook link with a ridge monkey chod hook with a outurned eye and a bait screw for the bait , now when I use a hook with a inturned eye the hook seems to sit at a more aggressive angle , what are you guys using as a hook pattern ?
  19. Never heard of the kebab rig ??? Got a link or a picture ?
  20. 5 fish , lost 2 the coots are hammering my baits..
  21. Two fish down 30 hours to go 😎
  22. Nice going, bet the days can't go quickly enough.....
