  1. cheers BC , I have read some good things about the camotex , I've been using the kryston merlin this year and to be honest its ok , the only down side is its not very well camouflaged in my opinion and i'm looking at someting that will blend in a little better for my margin fishing ..... dave
  2. Is anyone using this range of braid hooklnks ? And what's your thoughts on it ? ....
  3. Yes BC dripping from the top corners of the doorway, my brolly has a central rib in the door but the rain still gets in.. happy birthday smufter for yesterday , nice one with the cheque mate
  4. Yes the pole works great now thanks you 😆 it's been adapted with the right thread lol , it's the rain that gets me , the brolly system is one of the best I have seen but the rain still gets in from the lip of the brolly , with a little bit of thought and a little bit of fabric it could be so much better 😉
  5. Cheers BC, last year after a good look round I purchased a system brolly set with both the zip on front panel and the overwrap , I've never used the overwrap but the zip on front panel is a god send, only used two or three times so far but in my opinion well worth the money, if you can buy this as a package then it's worth the little extra.... Ps the pole is still in use my friend 😉 Pps it's a cheap copy that I own....
  6. Looking at the two videos, I would say the MHR has more head room and looks to be a better buy , do they make a zip on front panel for it ?
  7. To me it depends upon how your fishing , I use both, usually fish with one rod out and the other in the margins, but I do have a plan as how I will play and land the fish, from both rods, to be honest the water I fish has quite clear bank's in most swims so walking along the bank to land a fish is not a major problem ........ I fish with my margin rod at 90 degree that way I can see the rod tip move before the alarm goes off most of the time .....
  8. It's well over double figures here and with a whiskey to hand I can just about cope with the conditions indoors ....
  9. Good luck Vic , your mad doing night's in my mind but the best of British to you ......
  10. To much red wine I'm afraid BC 😀
  11. Was going to say it's got to be worth a punt , but is that too cheesy ?
  12. I've only walked down there once, and my first thought was I wonder if anyone fishes into the boat house, it's probably a good cast from the far bank or possibly can be fished from the no night fishing bank but this time of year I don't think many would have a problem with a brolly set up on there.........
  13. Anyone fish into the boat house on there Vic ?
  14. Cheers for the kind words guys, he was a cross between a st Bernad and a rottweiler, as soft as a giant teddy bear, all he wanted to do was play and be fussed over, he had diabetes for several years, had two injections a day , in the end he had both liver and kidney problems, he made it to 10 so didn't do too bad for a big dog ..
  15. I'm presuming that you can make the shank as long or as short as you want, rather than the fixed length of the long shank hook, that's my guess anyhow......
  16. This was also a Arthur, unfortunately he had to be put to sleep a few weeks ago,
  17. How do you clean diamond files then ? I'm interested as my tile file is getting blocked up ....
  18. Maybe have a look at the second hand market, some good items can turn up from time to time
  19. How much you want to spend bud ?
  20. Flog your Mx+ and get a set of mxr+ smufter, then your have one set that will do you for both, I'm very happy with mine they do just what I want them to do, I don't have the volume turned on on the head at all, just use the remote receiver, then your not blasting out to the whole lake , works great both day and night.
  21. £180 at last knockings , no wonder they stayed open and made tea ....
  22. I went round to find it a few weeks ago, but found it shut , will pop in again now I know it's open, cheers.
