  1. Just remember that you don't need a right complex rig to catch, copy what you have been catching on and see how your rigs go 😃
  2. Keep to what you know buddy don't change anything until you need to , if you're missing bites or just not getting any then it's time to have a rethink.......
  3. If you can get a hard o ring type it might, the silicon ones are useless .
  4. Can't help you with the zigs , but good luck with the carp 😉
  5. Just got back home, had a cracking trip , 12 fish in total, 8 on the margin rod all on sweet corn and chick peas , 4 on the long rod using wafters on a multi rig , starting to get my head round this clipping up malarkey
  6. five now , going good, finally got to eat my sandwich lol
  7. I've made it out to the lake, had three lost two, nothing massive largest was bang on 10lb a mirror , now landed four, trying to eat me sausage sandwich 😣
  8. where have i seen something like those before ........................................ dave
  9. I'm thinking that we are using similar rigs apart from I'm on braided hooklnks, I fish mine shorter around 4/5inch , with a small pile of bait the fish aren't moving around much and picking up your hook bait they are not moving around to much and can reject it before the lead comes into play , so either a longer hair(more of a problem to eject) or a shorter hook link (the weight of the lead will help to set the hook and bolt the fish) Its not gospel , Dave
  10. Another thing to think about is size of the bait and hook size also Dave
  11. You haven't said what rig your using for your bottom baits ? Next question are you missing a lot of bites ? Are you fishing your bottom baits in the PVA bags as well as the pop-ups ? I find with a 14mm pellet on a standard knotless knot hair rig around 15 mm between hook and bait works for me , fished with a PVA bag of mixed sized pellet . Dave
  12. I was torn between the two . In the end I went for the big pits with the quick drag , after a few sessions I now have them sussed and think I made the right decision , if you think about it , with the quick drag system there are less moving parts as your going for the more budget range ( same as I did ) you get more for your money with a simpler system , that a more complicated and costly baitrunner , there is more to go wrong with the bait runner , and for me its just the difference from flicking the handle to moving the (censored) , now saying that I do backwind and dont need to have the clutch set , but with a bait runner system you have two clutches , so it comes down to the way you fish really ............ dave
  13. I see that the warriors come with a line clip now dave
  14. looks to be happy in the chair .... dave
  15. your probably right there chilly mate , only built to be a little different and gain a few more sales , I'll get them out and have a look at the rest of the rings I dont think there is a major step between the butt and second ring , It could be that the whole rod has been ringed with the next size up set , but to be honest with my fishing I'm not really going to notice the difference between a 40 mm ring set or a 50mm , after all these are in the budget range of rods and I'm not expecting nor really wanting a high performance rod for what they cost , I cant justify spending £300/£400 on a single rod for my style fishing , I'm happy to just be fishing its not all about the catching for me .......I do respect those that do go hunting for that special fish and money is no object in that pursuit for those guys that can , but for me there has to be a balance dave
  16. thinking about the 50mm rings I'm sure they are not standard on the warriors , I think 50mm rings was only offered on these rods from total tackle .on the water I'm fishing I defiantly dont need to cast that far , but maybe in the future dave
  17. cheers smufter , I have these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gardner-Tackle-Sensi-Clips-Rod-Line-Clips-Carp-Barbel-Pike-Coarse-Fishing/172032622118?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D43782%26meid%3D4b2a0843a282499ca623cb77d2a2bfd7%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D112405047540 and find them ok , but where the whipping is on the rod just in front of the real seat /handle is where I would want the clip , if i put the clip over the whipping then the clip part does'nt touch the rod ...
  18. cant go far wrong with a lolly stick ....
  19. the annoying thing is they have gone to the trouble of sticking some whipping on just where the clip should be , so adding one will be a pain
  20. I think they are BC , I got mine from total fishing tackle and they claim to be made for them , mine have 50mm butt rings and TT in the graphics on the rod , only down side and its probably just me , there is no line clip dave
  21. +1 for the warriors , I have only owned mine for a few months and used them just a few times , but they do feel really balanced and a lot lighter than i would expect from 3lb test rods , some of the cheaper rods seem to be tip heavy to me , but these are nicely balanced in the hand dave
  22. I'm no expert but i think is the way the hook sits with the bait just above it , sort of like a chod D loop set up . dave
