I see where your coming from now mate, I use an old 11ft carp rod and one of my old mitchell reels for surface fishing , they just feel nicely balanced. dave

DEANO when you say match fishing just what are you fishing with ? match rod or carp rod ? I never used more than 4lb line with my match rod , I had a diawa closed spool reel great bit of kit can't remember the number of that one , I do still have my mitchell match reel in perfect working order just couldnt get on with it , I liked to open the bail arm and finger the line rather than flicking it open. Im wondering how your going to tie the end of the mesh up with the hook length inside ? dave

been thinkin about this tonight , has anyone tried putting the pop up into the stick then filling it up and tying it off before mounting it on the hair /bait screw, you could add a couple of nuggets either in the stick or on the hook to keep it buoyant , then pva tying it to the hook link next to the putty , that way it should lay flat on the silt with your bait popped up above once everything has melted dave

now that's not a bad idea , I'm sure that I have my old man's fly rod knocking around somewhere. I had one of those nights last night where I couldn't sleep and one of the strange thoughts that popped into my head was fishing these from a controller float , letting it sink down a foot or two . dave

I do like to get the rods pointing in the general direction of where i'm fishing , on a pod or bank sticks and buzz bars your limited by the angle , as for getting tangled up with your other lines its for this very reason I only fish two rods , with three I just know how much of a mess I would be in !! with the rest of the anglers having a right old laugh ..... dave

hi Angel i have a pair of crosscast 5000x's ive only used them a couple of time , the only down side i have found so far is they are to free running , I like to play my fish by backwinding , these reels will backwind until the handle is down , when placed in the rod rests unless the anti reverse is engaged . dave

I have a cyprinus magnetix system brolly , and having only ever put it up once had a right fight with it , the boss at the to is very short and I was struggling to get the second part to connect , looking at some of the product videos on youtube , the fox system comes with a longer central pole that unscrews once up , so my question is what are theses poles called and are they available as a spare part ? ive had a search around on the interweb but nothing is turning up . cheers for any help Dave .

I would have a try with a nice juicy lobworm free lined if its possible to get it out to the fish ? or float fished if not , bread flake over a crumb groundbait , can you rake out a nice patch ? is it a park lake where kids feed the ducks ? dave

is it just the middle rod , or always the right ? or more lucky on the left ? or the one on its own ? I only fish two less problems that way dave

thanks for the reply there BC , I have read about adding salt to the mix , but not had chance to have mess around and see , been thinking of draining off as much liquid as I can then adding something like hemp oil . I dont think that this stuff would be any good to weave up a line its only in about 6" lengths and isn't that strong , I did come across something along the lines that your describing on ebay , I'll see if i can find it again dave

once the weather improves and the fish start to feed a little more , i'm going to give this a try , probably only on one rod to start with , I'm looking for a way of making the particles pva friendly.
